Em, that reminds me of when I had the Avatar of Roger from the current Rent tour nnd I got a ton of pm's telling me how hot I was, and also that I needed to take off my shirt in the pic.. that was hilarious
Since this thread is as general as the wind. Let me share a joke I just heard.
*Please dont read if offended by the word 'balls'*
A guy is standing at a urinal when he notices that he's being watched by a midget. Although the little fellow is staring at him intently, the guy doesn't get uncomfortable until the midget drags a small step ladder up next to him, climbs it, and proceeds to admire his privates at close range.
"Wow," comments the midget, "Those are the nicest balls I have ever seen!"
Surprised-and flattered-the man thanks the midget and starts to move away.
"Listen, I know this is a rather strange request," says the little fellow, "but I wonder if you would mind if I touched them."
Again the man is rather startled, but seeing no real harm in it, he obliges the request. The midget reaches out, gets a tight grip on the man's balls, and says, "Okay, hand over your wallet or I'll jump!"
OMG Scotty that is too funny..
I really appreciate members who aren't anonymous. I enjoy knowing who I'm speaking with, and I really like it when people either have their own picture as their avatar or as one of their fan photos. It's me in my avatar, though I've changed it a few times trying to get the most flattering headshot and wishing I looked more like the avatars of people who choose sexy male stars for theirs. Anyway, much appreciation to those who are not anonymous!!!

Im more than willing to tell people about myself, but Im not too fond of people reading my bio to find out about me, as my bio says, just freakin ask me...
Thanks ESLGR8. I would put a pic of myself as well, I just haven't figured out how to do that yet.

I am shy. It took me a year of reading the board before I joined.
eslgr8 - You mave motivated me to look through the junk for my headshot when I was 20.

So I just want to encourage people to place a little more in their profile :)
The better to stalk you with, my dear...
I also look just like my avatar. (That's me on the right). I'm not very tall but I am fluffy.
Dang, Mythus! You figured me out :)

I understand what you are saying but I don't think age should deter you from talking to someone. As long as your not trying to do illegal things to them-there is nothing wrong with talking to someone under 18.
Mamie, I read your profile...great sense of humor. I like you already.
Em, I think I though you were a guy at first too, but please keep up the shameless shilling
I've had a few people actually ask if I work for Avenue Q before because I seem to know a lot about the show (some have even thought I was a cast member), but perhaps it is best for me to come out publically and announce that I am just a mere Q~tip myself
Thank you Adam! My favorite niece lives in San Diego so I can definitely say I left my heart there.
Hi BroadwaysTAR2b, Thanks for your PM. When I posted this thread, I've come to realize some people may think I don't want to talk to younger people. I hope that wasn't the impression. I just wanted to know what type of person I speaking with before I got "invested". I hope that makes sense. Again, I do not judge the experience or wisdom of those younger. I'd still love to receive anyones PMs.

Yeah it's great when people post some info in their profiles because I like to know a little bit of general stats about a person I'm talking to online. I'm pretty bad at trying to guess a person's stats etc from reading their posts so I usually need to be told. :-P I have no idea what people thought of me when I started posting here though.
I understand that you didnt mean that you didnt want to talk to younger people Adam Chris, I'm just saying in general that I agree, age should not be an issue as to who you talk to etc. I'm 15 but I really dislike it when people (not here but at other forums I've been part of) stop talking to me or dont want to talk to me because I am still in high school. I really enjoy talking to people of all ages here because everyone has such different insights and opinions and people here are just alot of fun to talk to in general. I'm glad to see that, so far as I know, I haven't been judged or avoided etc because of my age because I really do enjoy my time here. I'm always open to anyone who PMs me, I just like to know a little about who I'm talking to. :-P
Thanks Dreamcatcher. It certainly makes it easier for conversational purposes. By the way, what is your icon a picture of? Is it from a movie?
Hey ~ I've recieved a lot of PM's from this message I posted, most of them positive. Thanks to those who have included more in their profile!

obviously not me in the avatar... but i think we all know why i chose her by now
I wish i looked more like Steph. She is gorgeous.
I am Kate Monster!
I've noticed at lot more people lately have place more information in their profile. Cool.
Well, we've got the new and improved profiles now. :P
Adam, I've seen your pictures and you don't look 29 at all. What's your secret???
And...
I just realized this is a very old thread resurrected.
Well, there are times I wish I could be anonymous.
But mainly I'm glad that people know who I am, and sometimes even come up to me in a theater and say, "Are you eslgr8?"
Honestly it would never have occured to me to post someone else's picture instead of my own.
My favorite posters are the ones who let me know who they are. Otherwise, it's like talking to someone whose face you can't see and whose voice has been described.
Just my opinion.
Steven :)
PS: The one thing I won't do is say my age. My pictures are very new, so I'll let you decide yourselves. Somewhere between 40 and death (as Mame would say).

I am way over 18 and over 29 too, if you must know...but frankly, I don't fill in personal profiles on any message board, on AOL or on mailing lists. If and when I want to tell someone on the board more about myself, I will do that. I really don't feel the need to share all that personal info about myself just to participate in a message board.
It's not a matter of identity theft or anything weird. It's just that I like to get to know people on my own terms and not have them making judgements about me by my age, profession, experience, etc. It's hard enough getting to know people in this internet age...much less when someone reads a simple profile and makes assumptions about you without really knowing you.
