Strange.... any other shows do 7 and not 8?
I'm guessing it was determined the role was too demanding.
Hedwig only did 7 while NPH was in it. I don't know about now.
The queen can make any rules she wants. Her subjects must obey.
She's older and a theater schedule is tough. Everyone else in the show gets breaks but she's in for the full 2 hours, so I'd imagine it's tough. Same reason why it's a strict limited engagement.
I wonder if Kristin Scott Thomas could just tag team and come over?
Good idea

Hedwig is still only doing 7 shows. It's dark on Sundays and Mondays.
Hedwig may be a show that requires more rehearsal time in between shows. So, even though there are no shows on Sunday and Monday, that doesn't mean the company isn't inside rehearsing.
Why would Hedwig be rehearsing?

All shows still run rehearsal consistently through their run, JBroadway.

Long running shows (if not all of them) are always holding rehearsals in between performances. Besides, Hedwig needs to 'break in' the new lead every time the current performer prepares to exit. The production is preparing to go into rehearsals with Darren Criss, and they're probably already rehearsing Lena's replacement.

I don't think Hedwig would be rehearsing more than an average Broadway show. It has fewer performances and isn't as 'set' as most shows are. Hedwig has so much more freedom.
As to how the new Hedwig's rehearsals go, that's something I'm interested in. Are Darren Criss and Rebecca Naomi Jones rehearsing together? And does the Angry Inch rehearse with them? or do they get just an accompanist?
