Normal wicked fan that posts three times...

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

Honestly, the reason a lot of people who do like Wicked won't say so is becuase people assume that purely by virtue of liking this show, you TyPe lYke THIXZZZSS!!!!ONEone!!!111, think the sun shines out of Idina's ass, and behave like a nine year old.

In my opinion, it's a good show. I liked it. Do I think it's the best thing to ever happen to Broadway? No. But I'd recommend it.

I'm 31 and I enjoyed it..so it does appeal to more than just teenyboppers. I would definitely recommend listening to the CD first...don't waste your time reading the book.

it is totally up to you. I LOVE Wicked but it is your decision. But you should go just to see why people fawn over it.

Kristin Chenoweth could barely control a Great Dane she trotted onto the stage. "Great, they gave me a dog that weighs five times what I do", she quipped. For the record, she weighs 93 pounds, and has a Maltese.

Go see it. Its an enjoyable show- a fun spectacle. You should be entertained. And, if Stephanie J. Block is still in the tour when it comes by you, its worth it just to see her. She's excellent in the role of Elphaba.

It's a fun show. Enjoy it for the experience. You might surprise yourself and love it, but don't look for other people to validate your entertainment choices.....come on!

Go! You won't regret it and it will be a very good show. BTW, I'm a teenage girl who loves Wicked and I don't type like a spastic idiot. I use capitols in the nessecary places and use correct puncuation.

All the cool people see Wicked. If you don't see it, you're not cool.

Seriously, if you're not interested and don't think you would like it, then why waste your money? If you think you might enjoy the visuals and the spectacle and the story and the score, then go. Like every show, some people love it and some people hate it and everyone else is in-between. You won't find the answer to your question here.

I thought it was ok.

I would see it just for Stephanie because her voice is just great (if she's still in the tour by that time). But yeah, go see it and form your own opinion.

Yeah you won't be cool if you don't see it!

::rolls eyes::

Well, anyway, my honest opinion is that the Broadway show is way better than the tour. I wouldn't spend the money on the tour. It's a great show but if you were to see it, see it on Broadway. Stephanie is great but she screams a lot in "No Good Deed". I think either Shoshana or Saycon (depending on when you see it) will ROCK your socks off.

Yes indeed, you will be a crazed Wicked fan. I am but don't worry, it wears off. Just don't go see it 4 times like I did.

Tenor, I was in the same dilemma a few weeks ago. All the hype killed whatever desire I had to see this show, but I eventually broke down and purchased a ticket because I wanted to see Wicked before JLT left. I thought it was just ok. The story was good, the performances were good, but I didn't like the songs and how they were presented. The choreography was ridiculous. Ironically, a friend of mine let me borrower her Wicked CD and for some reason I like the music on this. I went in wanting to like it, but I really think the "next best thing since sliced bread" attitude (in addition to the incessant Idina threads) set the bar too high.

I agree, it's a shame that abunch of younger kids have ruined the allure of Wicked, but if you can bring yourself to look past all that, it truly is a wonderful musical. The score is absolutely phenomenal, and although the plot is lacking, the story is great. The set is amazing, the costumes, the talent... If for nothing else, see it so you can have an opinion. But I promise it's worth the price.

I didn't 'absolutely love' any of it. In fact, I didn't even REALLY like much of it. However I do understand why the little teeny girls love it and I am glad I saw it. I won't bother seeing it a second time, on B'way or the tour.

I've seen it 3 times and I loved it in the beginning. I am however, getting extremely sick of it. I have not listened to the CD in FOREVER. People keep talking about it and posting about it, and it makes me even more sick of it.

I'm 34 and I love the music. I saw DRS in May and loved Norbert Leo Butz, and when I started researching other things he's been in, of course Fieyro popped up, which led me to listening to the "Wicked" CD. I wasn't involved in all the hype when Kristin and Idina were in it, and I'm considering seeing it now. My personal opinion is that you should see any show that interests you one way or another. Every theatre experience is one to learn from. Hell, I sat through Jekyl and Hyde for godssakes!!!!!

Of course go see it. It is fun. Like all things, some like it, some do not. If you love musicals go se it and form your own opinion.
I see everything I can, and always look for the best in each show.

When I saw Wicked I was a little disappointed (because of the hype)
but I am glad I saw it.
