How is Kristan Chenoweths as G(a)linda??I REALLY wanted to see her playing Glinda but I got the tickets to late

the reason its not like that on the soundtrack is b/c its a soundtrack. why would they have gasping on a soundtrack, its perfection. it was done in a recording studio.

A dancer might dream to see her name in lights and mean it, but all she really dreams is to make someone else feel the way she did when she first saw a dancer. And that is so beautiful-Anonymous

It's far from perfection, actually. Idina sounds about 100 times better live. Kristin sounded better live as well, IMO.

Both ladies were asked to tone down their vocals for the recording. Which happens a lot really. Coloratura and Idina-belting don't always record well for some reason. That's why Kristin's high notes are no where near as high as they were live.

yeah..They will always sound different live though.I thought she was just having a bad beginning of the show or somthing b/c she didn't do that after what is this feeling.

How many times have you guys seen the play??Ohhh and if you get the chance you should try to get the D.V.D. B'WAY:The American Musical.It has behind the scenes looks at WICKED and the song For Good.It'a GREAT!

That said, I'm going to see wicked for the first time on tuesday, and my copy of the bway: the american musical dvd is on order.

Okay I will. Sorry about that. You will LOVE the show! It's got comedy romance and everything you could think of! You're lucky to have gotten the tickets before Idina left. You're going to see her on her last day. Lucky you! (Is that better for your eyes??)

Actually, I'll see her on her 6 or 7th to last performance...we bought tickets when everyone thought her last day was the 2nd. I was so mad when I found out...but imagine how happy I was when I found out she extended a week! So yes, looking forward to it very much...even more looking forward to it because I get to take my best friend with me who doesn't get to see alot of shows but LOVES Bway.

Oh wow! How nice. Be sure to try and wait by the stage door. You may meet ( or atleats see ) Idina. I'm not sure but I think JLT will be playing G(a)linda. If not, Megan Hilty is good. I can't really compare. I've only seen Megan play G(a)linda. Have you read the book??

JLT is back as Glinda starting tonight.

I saw the matinee today-- it was amazing.
Megan was pretty good, but JLT came back for the night.

PJ- That's really interesting about the recording. Do you know why their voices don't record that well?

idinaroxmysox- Yeah, I guess it was just luck of the draw. I really wasn't expecting her to come out, but I was really glad she did.
