I love the bubble gum idea, Idina could blow an enormous bubble and take the whole thing and put it on Kristin's head. She could then say, "I heard you were looking for a second car."

I would pay to see Wicked with all those added in slaps and kicks. ![]()
Just kidding. Anyway, I've been caught up in the moment during shows before (during an audition I accidentally shoved someone...it was called for in the script, but I was so caught up in it that I did a rough shove- no wonder I wasn't cast), so if Idina DID do it, I think that it's possible that she was just too caught up in the moment.

Well what do you know from all the stuff they say in the interviews about how talented they think each other are and how they respect them blah blah blah. And then to find out the don't get along. I wonder why all the bad blood?? You can respond Broadwaylilhead I don't mind admitting that i like gossip.

Maybe Joel Grey could just lightly slap Chistery on the butt and Idina could say "Sorry. I didn't mean to walk in on you spanking your monkey!"

Only if Idina turns to the audience, winks broadly, and announces "I had a day off yesterday!" And only if Joel takes calcium supplements. We'd hate to hear those wrists of his snap.

Well if we heard them snap, that would save the sound guy from having an additional audio cue.
"Elphaba, please - the counter-carpal tunnel spell!"
It was not a slap. It was a philanges malfunction. If you zoom in and slo mo the action, you can see that it is not actually a neck brace, but a decorative neck piercing. Pending SAFD investigation, Idina could be banned from the Daytime Emmys.

A Phelanges Malfunction! You just knocked that one out of the park, Matt. Like Idina apparently tried to do to Kristin, if the rumors are correct!
wow! all this over a little mishap! haha CAT FIGHT!!! (between idina and kristin)
Idina didnt try to slap Kristin, she tried to take OFF the neck brace, there is no bad blood, only a wardrobe malfuntion. There is a full investigation underway of what went wrong. But until then, both Kristin and Idina are banned from performing at the Tony's and are ineligable for recieving any awards. Idina is expected to release a statement and apologize to the entire Broadway community for her inappropraite behavior.
haha good one TheGirlinTheFrock

That was funny :)
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
I can say for a fact that Idina does not really slap Kristin in the show. I wasn't at the Sunday matinee so I don't know for sure, but if Idina tried to stage slap Kristin because she forgot she wasn't supposed to and Kristin didn't move away in time because she didn't know Idina was going to try and "slap" her, then wouldn't Idina's hand and Kristin's cheek have ended up making contact?
I have gotten caught up in the moment too, where I was supposed to push myself in between two actors to make room, I ended up nearly knocking them off the stage. Accidents happen...I think it would have been incredibly unprofessional of Kristin to not look at Idina during For Good, the real emotional scene that requires acting. Like everyone's saying, frankly I couldn't care less if Kristin and Idina want to tear each other apart, as long as they don't show it onstage.
I just got back from Washington and read this post. I wish I posted earlier! I just want to say, disagree if you will. But I think that Kristin and Idina don't have alot in common. Idina is a lot more serious then Kristin is. But, like Kristin said, they pull themselves together and put on one hell of a show. They do have respect for one another and I don't think they insult each other backstage. They probably go to their dressing room and change their costumes and warm up. And also, fake slap or real, Idina was probably just in the moment. It's not uncommon.
I know this is REALLY late, but in response to one of Auggie's earlier posts-
How does Kristin's "We're very different, but when it comes to that time to be together..." imply that she and Idina aren't buddies? Granted, it seemed to say they weren't the best of friends, but I didn't think she was saying that they honestly don't get along as people.
And for the people who HAVE heard that Kristin and Idina don't get along very well, how do you know that? Not that I'm disagreeing, but I haven't heard anything like that.
I believe that the word Auggie used was "intuit". And if the party line being served up during the opening round of publicity and interviews was already the "we're very different, but...", it's not difficult to get the feeling that the stresses of all the who's-better-Kristen-or-Idina hoopla, both in the award arena and within the fan base, would widen the gulf between the two.
Oh,I was skimming along posts 66 and 67, and there was MY NAME! It jolted me back to reality, as it would all narcissists. Yes, Ms. Iflitfloat, I love the word intuit, that's what we all do here, non stop, is "intuit," don't we?
Don't y'all remember Kristen, in a rare moment of cheerleader-smile-droppage, when she said "...we're very ... different..." in a way that italicized "different" to me mean "honey, we don't kick back and do cosmos after she takes off the green pancake..."
This whole thread makes me crave a nice safe topic -- you know, like Donna Murphy's attendance over at WT.

I hear that Kristin lost her neck in this incident, and, upon hearing she had been maimed, was left by her fiancee for another woman. Idina left the show, however she wants to eliminate the bad blood between herself and Kristin. So she sent an unwitting Taye Diggs over to invite Kristin to their wedding anniversary party while Idina went to Sicily to visit her dying mother. Kristin was unwilling to talk to Taye (in fact, a friend of a friend of mine has a friend in the cast and her exact words were "I LOST MY NECK! I LOST MY MAN! IDINA HAS HER NECK, IDINA HAS HER MAN, YOU WANT ME TO TAKE ALL THAT HEARTACHE, PUT IT AWAY AND FORGET!?") Taye and Kristin then had a one-night stand, upon which Taye realized what he was doing and was about to leave before Kristin said "I'm in love with you." Taye slapped her twice and said "Snap out of it!" (oddly enough in a very thick Brooklyn accent), but then agreed to go to the opera that night with Kristin. That day, Taye had a makeover for his big date at the Met, and during the Third Act of La Boheme (the Italian Rent, for you philistines), Krisitn leaned over and kissed his neck. Coincidentally, that night Taye also saw his mother at the opera with another man.
You know, I really need to stop watching Moonstruck while reading this message board.
ROTFL. Wow. I haven't laughed that hard in...
Damn, Vish, you mean it's not *really* inside info?
Ahhhh!!! I don't care how nosy this is, cause really, that's what I am all about lol, but I really wanna know what broadwaylilhead has to say about what happened after the show!!

Iflit, I'll have you know I got that information from a VERY good friend of a friend's cousin who once dog-sat for this chick whose mother's friend's second cousin once-removed went to a party with a woman who slept with the producer for the show that Idina was GOING to do before agreeing to be in Wicked.
I practically experienced it first-hand.
