Actorboy-- they actually did make contact in San Francisco- the sound effect added to make it more dramatic. The stage slaps began on Broadway.

I'm not posting anything anyone told me about Sunday; I was actually there on the second row with a group of friends celebrating a birthday.

And as far as the two not getting along off-stage, it aint that big of a secret in the Broadway community so I'm not telling anything that alot of people don't already know...

You don't have to agree with the information- that's why people have opinions.

They do NOT make contact. The sound effect is a cover to make the audience think they're actually slapping each other.

In no Broadway show would actresses actually slap each other eight times a week. That would be crazy.

Idina did NOT make contact with Kristin's face during Sunday's matinee performance.

If you were in the second row and couldn't tell, they've really gotten the stage slap down.

And, actually, I hear quite a bit of gossip from the "Broadway community" (and attended the Broadway.com chat with Idina, Krsitin and Jesse McKinley of the Times). While the two ladies, and those who know them, say they are not best friends, they have great respect for each other and their talent, and get along quite well.

That comes from a stage manager and two actors in the show (as does the verification that the slap is not real, and that no one was actually slapped on Sunday).

I think Idina should smack her even harder when she's wearing the neckbrace. Because Glinda hasn't been exactly nice to her. She should smack her really hard, knock her to the floor, and kick her in the stomach. IMO.

Well Broadwaylilhead... I don't care what anyone else says... KEEP THE POSTS coming!!! I love gossip. And thats what this board is all about. If it wasn't here my only shot at finding out the truth would be in Michael Reidel's column in the Post!!!

Actorboy- if I was betraying my friends in shows, such as Wicked, then I would have posted what I heard went on after the curtain went down Sunday. But to me, thats gossip- I didnt actually see any of that (although what i was told is pretty damn juicy)...but I did see the slap. You weren't there- you didn't see it so how can you accurate speak of such?

If you don't believe Idina made contact- then please-- go ask Kristin for yourself......

You jab me for posting "inside information" yet you just posted information from a "stage manager and two actors in the show." Huh- how is that any different?

"How could you 'forget' someone is wearing a big jewel encrusted neck brace when you are doing a scene starring right at them? It's not like this was the first time Kristin had ever worn the brace or had just put it on, she had been wearing it since the beginning of Act II.... that would be like kicking Nessa and then saying 'Oh, I forgot you're in a wheel chair.'"

No, that's a totally different thing. Is kicking Nessa in the script? I dont think so, and even if she did by accident, it wouldnt hurt the actress because we all know Michelle Federer is very capable of walking. I think Idina just got caught up in the moment and I can see Kristen being shocked, but I dont think she should hold anything against our lovely green friend. Mistakes happen. Kristen was probably just shooken up. I dont think that there should be assumptions that these ladies are in real life rivals. From what they say in their interviews, they hold one another in the highest respect.

I'll tell how it's different. What he posted was discussed in an open forum in front of an audience.

If you don't see that difference, well then - I can't help you...

Anyway speaking of Wicked since it was sold out all weekend, my bf and I tried the raffle twice on Saturday and again on Sunday. kristin is a pro and even if idina pissed her off she wouldnt show it onstage, she wouldnt cheat the audience like that--i think you are reading too much into it---and how do you know they ALWAYS do it when she has the neck brace on? If might of just been when you saw it bc it really really hurt or something.

just sounds like lilhead is a cheno fan and not idina

some of you crack me up.. this has nothing to do with being or not being a fan. I simply reported something I witnessed on Sunday.. not what i "heard" from someone.... and yes, while it was an accident of sorts, it did happen...

broadway.com speaking engagement... remember, its a Public Relations/Press/Publicty apperance, its filtered- you're not going to get any real dirt..only laughs and smiles..

and for the record- I love and adore both woman and I think they are amazing and incredibly talented. Wicked is one of my favorite shows to come along in long while right behind Avenue Q and Side Show....soon to be added: Bare.

OK

I have no idea if this is true or not (though I could find out). But one thing I simply MUST point out is...if you are caught up in the moment so much that you forget the blocking and cause harm to another actor, then you yourself are a BAD ACTOR!! VERY VERY BAD!!!! Every actor simply must keep enough of his or her self on reserve to make sure they don't get 'caught up' in anything and endanger others on stage. It is truly unacceptable not only to be the person who gets caught up, but then to have people excuse the behavior. It's called acting. It's NOT REAL!!!! It's your job to make the audience believe that it's real, but once you cross over into 'Oh my god, I'm really feeling it so I'm going to disregard everyone and everything on this stage', you become a danger to others and A VERY BAD ACTOR!!!!!

Not to say that Ms. Menzel did this at all. I don't believe it unless I'm there or talk to one of my friends in the cast.

Well...if she were to go that far Namo, I would venture to say that she would know what she was doing the entire time.

It may be assault and battery...but I doubt it would be because she was 'caught up in the moment.'

So...no...I don't really have a problem with it.

Can't we all just get along?!?!?!?

The truth is, is that we dont know what happened, yes even you BLH. I don't see how there can be an arguement oversomething we weren't there to witness. And even though BLH was there you could have misjudged, saw it wrong, took it the wrong way OR not. We don't know! How could we possibly know what Idina's intentions were, or the way Kristin took what happened (if anything happened at all). We can't. Plan and simple!! -- hope i didnt offened anyone!

Lilhead, if you don't see the difference between my post and yours, there's no hope. You were spreading gossip. I was trying to set the record straight (and not posting something negative).

Again, Kristin and Idina do NOT actually slap each other during the course of the show. Idina did NOT actually slap Kristin on Sunday afternoon. Say what you will, but I have spoken to people who work on the show, who were there, and they all said the same thing: no one was actually slapped. It was the same stage slap that the actresses execute eight times a week.

So you did not "witness" what you think you did (or you didn't "witness" it at all). And part of your original post was certainly gossip and not something you saw firsthand.

Again: do your friends in the show know you're posting like this?

You "love and adore" both women? Strange way of showing it.

Right, YOU were the one who tried to imply that Actorboy was doing something just as "gossipy" as you, but you just admitted that he didn't.

Way to prove your point.

Namo, I think your kicking idea is grand. I also think that Kristin could try sticking bubblegum in her hair during Popular.
