1. Is there flying in the show? I'm assuming yes "defying gravity". What's it like? I always love flying in shows.
2. On the official site how funny is the introduction voice? It sounds like some cheesy film or something..

1.) There wasn't really any flying in SF. The Curran wouldn't allow it. The overall physical production will be much larger when it opens at teh Gershwin and the Flying Monkeys, who only climbed all over the set in SF, will fly over the audience according to many reports... As if they didn't LOOK scary enough, now they go right over you. I will have nightmares.
2.) The guy doing the voice over is the same guy who does the voice overs for movie trailers. It seems only natural to have him do it since one of the producers is a movie studio. :)
OOO that sounds so exciting. My favorite exciting moment was in Little Shop of Horrors (the original) when they dropped plant vines on the audience! Woo!
Broadwayguy...if there wasn't any flying, what did Idina do during that end part in Defying Gravity? I always pictured her flying.

Let's just say that she had a cape that filled the stage . I'm not sure of exactly how all the mechanics work. the cast is pretty tight liped about how the effects worked.
isn't Universal the ONLY producer of the show? i heard they tied up the book rights, the Broadway, and the movie rights. They are hoping for a Harry Potter like franchise. Makes sense to me. Can't wait to see this. Big Schwartz fan and want to see him have another major hit.

I know that Universal had teh rights and Schwartz went to them about doing a show on Broadway.

Woah, movie rights? Wicked: The Movie?

yes, they had purchased the rights a long time ago..... justa little while after teh novel was released.
the author has a few more "alternate take" novels on legendary stories...like CINDERELLA from the stepsister point of view. That's the franchise Universal envisions, like Harry Potter, but with as much for adults as children. It's a good idea.
I really hope that Idina now flies during "Gravity". It adds so much to the song: "Up here. It's me!"

I read a quote somewhere by Kristin Chenoweth regarding a WICKED movie. She said that if that were to happen she hoped that they would keep the talent in the current cast because there were just so many amazing people involved in the show. She said that if she ever got a call to be Nicole Kidman's singing voice as Glinda in the movie that we would find her hanging herself with her shower curtain. I, of course, giggled my a$$ off at that one.

Wicked would make a good TV movie, but please let's not repeat "Return to Oz" all over again.
Trust me- it won't be Return To Oz. The stories are completely different, and that was a sequel- this is a complely new musical. I think it would be an amazing movie, though.

BwayGirl, can you please remove that link? I don't want to take a chance for CompulsiveBowlers.com to get in trouble and one of the rules of the forum is not to talk about bootlegging.
Done deal, if you guys want more clips, istant message me or PM me.
