Well now the A Chorus Line national tour has announced dates at the Oriental.

I certainly won't cry over its closing, as it frees up desperately needed theatre space, but I still want to wait until getting an official announcement before pronouncing it dead. I find it hard to believe that BIC would dump the show while it was still doing so well.

They don't really anticipate having stellar business next year, which is they are tentatively booking the Oriental. Keep in mind, they can move those shows to the Cadillac, the Auditorium, or they could rent the Chicago (and no one can tell me A CHorus Line wouldn't fit in that theater).

Fosse.

The famous Chicago Theater is being bought by MSG. I think that MSG bought it so that they could have A the bragging rights that they own the famous theatre. And B a place in Chicago to call their own for the shows that they produce ( Radio City Christmas Show for example.) There are also talks of a Cirque show going in there as well.I would venture a guess that the Cirque show that would go into the Chicago would be Wintuk because MSG has exclusive rights on that show until 2010.

I don't think I see MSG as one to get involved with Broadway in Chicago but that is just me.
