"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu#53re: Wicked Movie: Soon?

You're a class act NiteOwl!
What is with all the kids being proud of their aggressive ignorance nowadays?

I don't think so. Like Wicked needs to make more money than it already is getting.
Shows usually film movies when they're not doing well. Not all the time, but usually.

Posted: 2/21/07 at 9:30pmIt's strange isn't it? I know sooo many ignorent kids my age. They think they know everything. at least I know I don't know everything.

They are?!!!
Back it up. Show me the figures. In dollars and cents.
I'm a stickler for cold, hard facts.
Impress me.

Okay, here are the cold hard facts.
Rent:
Before the movie - 2003
https://www.broadwayworld.com/grossesshow.cfm?show=RENT&year=2003
After the movie - 2006
https://www.broadwayworld.com/grossesshow.cfm?show=RENT&year=2006
Notice the weeks just after the movie was released. A significant rise, don't you think?
Phantom:
Before the movie - 2003
https://www.broadwayworld.com/grossesshow.cfm?show=THE%20PHANTOM%20OF%20THE%20OPERA&year=2003
After the movie - 2005
https://www.broadwayworld.com/grossesshow.cfm?show=THE%20PHANTOM%20OF%20THE%20OPERA&year=2005
Once again, there is not going to be a Wicked movie anytime soon.

Thank you Bobby.
At least someone can back up their statements.
Which is more than I can say for the rest of you.
Oh, and by the way, I really could care less if Wicked EVER makes it to the big screen.
I don't care for the show at all.
Need further proof?
Just look at the list of My Favorite Shows in my profile...it doesn't even rate...

This is hilarious. I've never seen some dumb broad give so many lame attacks in one thread.
* anxiously awaits his attack*

Posted: 2/21/07 at 10:00pmRent is....Wicked is most definitely not.

I would never attack someone who has such a beautiful avatar of Miss Donna McKechnie in "Follies" ljay.
But, just to correct you on two points.
1. I'm not dumb
2. I'm not a broad

Thank you Bobby.
You're welcome. But note this does not qualify for all Broadway shows with movies. These are just the ones you mentioned. If you want you can compare other stats for various shows, its listed under the Broadway grosses and goes back pretty far.
