I dont know how it will do there. America has this fasination with 'The Wizard Of Oz' I dont know if they do as well, but if they do, do you think they will pull a Producers and have some of the original cast come and join.

WIcked doesn't need the original cast. The Producers advertised Nathan Lane heavily, linking him forever with the show, to the show's detriment. It does fine, but nowhere near as successful as it was with Lane. Wicked is still sold-out, despite the absence of Idina and Kristin.

Word of mouth is a strong thing. Im sure there are people from the West End who saw WICKED on Bway and are telling their friends about it and so on and when it comes, it will be a hit. Word of mouth is powerful and essential to shows nowadays.

I was reading something about the Wizard of Oz, and it was mentioned that it was better received in England than in any other country. So I won't at all be surprised if Wicked does just as well in England as it's doing here.

...And if It'll arrive in London so many fan from German, Italy, Denmark, Holland and other Europe states will go to see it! Wicked in Europe is a big cult! Also here in Italy where nobody knows the original book (not published yet)for most italians "The Wizard of Oz" is just a children book or an old Judy Garland movie, but all the italian musical theater fans love the musical...If Wicked arrive in West End will be a big hit like Cats!

Hell, I'd even buy a german cast recording if it goes to Germany or Austria.......

It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story... AGATHA CHRISTIE, Life magazine, May 14, 1956

It will come to London next year, the Wall Street Journal had an article about Wicked, the marketing machine in October. They also wrote that "at London's Dress Circle theater shop, manager's say the "Wicked" cast album is their bestseller."
They also mentioned plans to have productions in other countries such as Germany (lucky you, Elphaba you might just get your wish), Australia and Japan.
Now I know the movie "The Wizard of Oz" isn't very well known in Germany, BUT I had never seen the movie and still loved the show. I don't think it matters too much. It's a great story on it's own, even without the movie.

I'll believe it is opening in the West End when the opening night happens and not before. So many Broadway transfers have been mooted and never happened. Hairspray was in the middle of auditioning for the London cast when the production was pulled.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.
