I don't like the fact that Nessa is still in a wheelchair. In the book she is missing arms, and obviously they can't do that on stage, but they could choose a different handicap

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they can change it. They can only change the staging/sets/choreography/costumes/lighting. Other than being translated it into Finnish, I'm pretty sure the show itself has to stay as it is.
It looks very cool... the Elphaba is stunningly beautiful.
Elphaba3, I think that can change on a case-by-case basis, though it's probably easier not to go through the trouble. I believe the first non-replica Swedish production of Les Miz changed a lyric in A Little Fall of Rain (Eponine had blood on her face instead of her hair, I think?), but I'm not sure what other liberties they took or were able to take.
TressaMay...legalities aside, if you think about it, they would have to significantly rewrite virtually any scene with Nessa if she were to not be in a wheelchair. From the first time you see Elphaba's powers, to the Boq/Nessa dance (and Nessa's pleading Elphaba to make that happen), to the ruby slippers. All of it would have to be rewritten for little to no purpose. Wicked has plenty of flaws and could use some (or lots of) rewrites, but Nessa's disability is nowhere near the top of the list of improvements that could be made, if you ask me...
I think this looks spectacular.
