I'm sorry if my subject line is a bit sneaky but I just read the update Stephanie has made on her website and it seems that she's hinting she's still not 100% (remeber the posts about her not doing the matinees so she could heal?) Anyway, is it just me or does it seem like she might be out at least ONCE during this run? As much as I love her, I'd like to see Jenna's take on Elphaba as well. It's very obvious she's LOVING being back home in L.A. and does not want to miss, but she seems very much into listening to her body when it needs to rest. Hmmmm....
EDIT: Ok, a little creepy that I wrote this at the same time she was out. Apparantly she didn't do the second show tonight! ALREADY? 
I'm kind of sad for her but very curious to know how Maria did!

I'm sure she'll miss a lot, but hopefully she's feeling better.
What is up with Kendra? It seems that she's catching up on Stephanie with abscences! Kendra's been out more than Stephanie recently.

Posted: 6/20/05 at 1:37amI spoke with Jenna after the show on Friday night, and she said that she had no idea when she was going to be on as Elphaba, in the near future. She insinuated that she would not be on for a while. Maybe it was a good performance by her, but who knows?

I'm not a singer (except for in my own mind while in my car or shower - then I'm the SH*T!!) so I may be wrong but it seemed to me that that if you take the highest notes that Glinda sings and the lowest note (which if I'm not mistaken seemed to be the last one in the reprise of I'm not that Girl) Glinda has to have one hell of a range!! To go from an operatic voice to a kind of cartoonish one at times, from legit to kind of pop (if that is the right terminology?) ...I mean holy crap! What a work out! I'm drained listening to her!

Posted: 6/20/05 at 2:26ami was at the 6:30 today (yay for lotto :), and both stephanie and kendra were out...jenna was still doing nessa; and i've gotta say, both understudies (don't remember their names and are too lazy to go grab the playbill) were great. i was definatley impressed

Posted: 6/20/05 at 2:41amA healthy, legit sound is much easier on the cords than belting. The voice is designed to facilitate a soprano sound. Belting requires more straining. Therefore, Elphaba is the more vocally demanding role.

So tomorrow is the big official opening and I was just wondering if anyone knows if either Stephanie or Kendra were out today to rest up for it? Friends of mine were going to try lotto today but I told them not to cause I had a feeling either one or both of them would be out. No lotto tomorrow by the way (just in case you were thinking of going!!)

not_that_girl, how is the lottery looking? I can't imagine it's going to be like in NY, but you never know.
Hell, I just hope I get to see Stephanie at some point in this....we're going this Sunday and again in July, so I'm sure we'll get her and Kendra at least once. (I mean, we're not talking Chenowith here....who I saw only once even though I saw the show 3x while she was in it!!)

I wanted to get something that an "ex"-junkie like him would really appreciate and cherish....it's a brick of heroin shaped like a heart.
