Tickets arent on sale yet Matty, how did you come by that ticket?

re: Wicked in London

the day of the press launch was the same day all the dates were added onto Ticketmaster. If you clicked on a date you could see you could book using something called the Whiteroom Card Offer. the Whiteroom card is a credit card, owned by clear channel, that gives you special privilages such as advanced booking. So i clicked on it, it said enter password. With most deals on ticketmaster its easy to guess the passwords. i put in "whiteroom2 and it worked. i booked my tickets, and i could pay with my normal debit card. i didnt even need this whiteroom card. My tickets arrived and they look no different to normal tickets. Other people also booked without the Whiteroom card, it was pure luck. the deal was quickly taken down the next day.

re: Wicked in London

errrr i looked at that and there isnt anything official there about him playing Boq, just one persons thery ..he is however doing The Wizerd of oz in Canterbury as the scarecrow how ever i cant see him really being that great in eather part, at least he isnt down as Fiero...

re: Wicked in London

He was fairly awesome in Joseph, he probably wouldn't be a dreadful Boq. But that's so rumour-ish it's funny. Some random guy going "I heard this"? There's no welly behind that. :3

In other news, my tickets arrived today. They're beautiful! re: Wicked in London

re: Wicked in London

Whoopdidoo

I was online the other day and was looking around ticketmaster and saw that there were tickets for the 27th for Wicked and since I thought I remembered that to be Opening Night, I ended up buying one (lousy seat, but really who cares...). That'll be fun.

re: Wicked in London

i know that on playbill.com it says that idina menzel is in the running for the lead in evita in london. but i'm a flight attendant and have had a few theater people on my flights and have heard consistently that idina is also in talks to play elphaba in london for a few months.
#67

re: Wicked in London

Evita has already been cast (some argentinian woman that was on Parkinson a few weeks ago)....so could be that she may do Wicked.
#68

re: Wicked in London

Well, the reason she decided not to go after the role of EVITA in London was that she didn't want to be away from her husband. So how would she be coming to London after all to play Elphaba when she didn't want to come to play Eva? Unless her engagement as Elphaba is a very short period of time and Taye Diggs is coming to London as well...

re: Wicked in London

well i heard that idina menzel ruined her voice cos of wicked and isnt allowed to sing for a ridiculous time like 3 years or sumthing. and supposedly theyve cast fiyero its Adam Garcia from the film 'coyote ugly'. and they are not goin 2 reveal who elphaba and glinda are until june or sumthing.

re: Wicked in London

It said on the email they sent me that they will be announcing the cast next month. The Americans are over this month (according to the email) and they'll be announcing in May.

Adam Garcia? Normally I'm sceptical about 'names' being cast but he's pretty good.

Yay!

re: Wicked in London

my friend who is in the tour of miss saigon has an audition for Boq in a few weeks.

i hope stars headlined are going to do the show justice and not just to publicise it but with the advance tickets already they won't need to.

re: Wicked in London

I know! The fact that without any 'stars' attached to it it's already sold £2 mill worth of tickets fills me with a lot of hope that they'll go for quality over names.

Not that names are bad - as long as they can perform.

re: Wicked in London

Re Idina not being able to sing for three years.....

Ummmm you have not heard her sing on See What I Wanna See then? re: Wicked in London

Towards the end of her Wicked run she was a bit iffy but then she had been singing the role for a long time. I saw her pre Tony Awards and was blown away. I have friends who saw her after and later in the run and they were impressed. However there is plenty of evidence on "places" that she had her off days.

re: Wicked in London

you all can now bow down to me. hehehehe. i guess my info was correct and that idina in fact will be elphie in the london production. i've had this guy on my flights to and from new york a lot and i knew he was a musical director in london. but i also thought that he was just kidding me when he told me that they are in talks with idina to be in the london production. but he was right.
