I'm going, Friday night, first performance :) veeeery excited, this'll be the first time I see someone else other than Idina as Elphaba. But I adore Eden, so that's just perfect!

I'm excited to hear your review of Eden in the role. I am flying out to SF on September 9th to see it with a friend. I was really upset with I found out Steph was not going to be performing but when I heard Eden was I was looking forward to it. I have heard Jenna Leigh Green is great though. My parents saw her perform when the tour was in Chicago.

I too was upset to hear of losing Steph in SF. But I am at the same totally excited to be seeing Eden! (in THIRTEEN days!) (not that I am like obsessively counting every second though) :)
Just make sure ANYONE that sees the show with Eden gets back online and posts reviews!!! I am SO excited and can't wait to hear about the performance!!!
I have tickets for the 25th but I'm trying the lottery tonight!

I don't want to start a new thread, fear of getting brutally attacked...do you guys think Wicked will do a lottery for every stop of the tour, including the two week stops?
From how I understand it, and please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, the lottery is decided by the producers of the actual show and not the city or the people in charge of the theater that it's showing in.
By the way, I have good reason to beleive that Wicked will be back in L.A. for a longer run like we had for The Lion King in 2007 but with no lottery.
thank you for threadjacking!
I hope you're happy--I hope you're happy now!
I hope you're happy how you'd steal this threads intention
to get undeserved attention!!
SORRY I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF! (Spank me if you'd like

Off to try the SF lotto! Wish me luck!
I'll post a review if I get it!
bumping this so that the people who might've gone don't have to start a new thread...
WoW!
I had seen Wicked in it's out of town tryout. Last night I tried the lottery, and after all the front row seats were gone (it didn't seem like that many) They drew names for "obstructed view" seats also for $25. My Partner's name was pulled for obstructed view and we took them, we were in the fourth row, all the way off to house left. While not the best view, most of the action takes place far enough downstage that we could see the actors most of the time. I was worried we wouldn't get to see Elpheba fly, but it turned out not to be a problem. The house was packed, completeley sold out, there wasn't an empty seat in the place. It was the BEST response I think I have ever seen a San Francisco audience give. Every principal received entrance applause, and the audience was on their feet from the front row to the rear balcony from the moment the curtain call began.
As for the performance... EDEN ROCKS. Critics be damned, she was AMAZING. We got goosebumps from her just about every song. Her Defying gravity was in my opinion breathtaking, I didn't find her screechy as some have mentioned, and she has gret chemistry with Kendra. Kendra was very good too, seemed to be a moment when she forgot some lyrics to Popular, but played it off. And then there was the popular dress. The Zipper split. Her zipper was still closed at the top, but open he rest of the way, like it's teeth didn't catch, you know? She managed to fix it about halfway through the song, and had a very funny ad lib that escapes me right now, maybe someone else who was there remembers? Carol Kane makes agreat Morrible, and I really liked David Garrison as the Wizard. Logan Lipton was adorable, and I liked Derrick Williams too. I plan to lottery a few more times, and I have Mezzanine seats on the 25th. But this is a great company, and this show does deserve the love it gets. Keep in mind I'm talking about the show, not the Insane Idina people and Crazy Kristin wannabes I've seen on this board.

I'm so jealous that Eden is in SF. I've only heard her sing the songs, and I think she's wonderful. Would love to see her act the role. I'm so glad you enjoyed. Did she change up any of the vocals, add some stuff, and all that sort?

Kendra's popular dress split again? That's like the 4th time that's happened now. That girl needs a new dress...

I'm SOOOO glad you enjoyed the performance!!! Can't wait to get there myself on the 18th!!!
I have a question about my seats.... I am pretty sure they are awesome (seeing as how i bought them literally the SECOND the tickets went for sale) and I was just wondering how good they really are... I am in row N orchestra seats.... how close is that to the stage??? Do I stilll need to bring binoculars??? thanx!

I believe the theater goes to EE in orchestra seeting, so I'm thinking you got some good seats there (better than mine)!!
hope you enjoy the show!!

Row N is fantastic! Enjoy! I think I'm trying the lottery again for the Sunday Matinee.
The adlib Kendra did was "Sparkles". "I know clandestinedly...", and she waved her hand over her face or something like someone threw glitter and whispered, "Sparkles." Mentioned on the other thread. I found it funny...I can definitely see Kendra doing that.

I WON! And I NEVER win at this kinda thing! Yay! Front row (almost) center!
I could actually see the facial acting.
I'm tired, so I'll write my review tomorrow! (possibly with stagedoor picts...)
Edit: LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Eden. Amazing. IF you can, go see her. She's worth every penny (all 2500 of them).
