Why is that wicked karaoke cd so rare. I couldn't find it anywhere! Like the day it came out amazon was out and said no more were coming i found it on ebay but why was it so hard to find.

Because there are tons of Wicked fans who would do anything to show up Kristin or Idina.

I pre-ordered it on Amazon. Thats the best way to go (too late now, thought...obviously)

I consider it an act of grace so that the entire nation is not instantly plagued with tone-deaf 13 yr olds screeching "Defying Gravity" following their favorite Britney song at various slumber parties and school talent shows.

I honestly love Wicked, but I can see it all getting out of hand.

Try Colony Music Center. The Colony stocks the world's largest sheet music selection and also has tons of Karaoke. It's located in Times Square on 49th St.

That's where I got it. You can call them at 212-265-2050 or order online (link is below). It costs $29.98 and they can to ship to you. Just click "Karaoke" on the bar on the left side and scroll down to search for "Wicked". That should do it.

Enjoy - it's a really great karaoke album.

I finally found it on ebay though. I didn't know it was out so i could pre order it so when i went to get it it was out of stock! i was so mad which that wasn't the 1st time cuz i was still mad from the delay of the pocket songs cd delay and anyone who has it is it any good?

The one at Colony is different from the one i got. the one i got is 2 disc and has No One Mourns the Wicked.

Hmm... I saw that one too when I was there last week. Don't know why it's not on their site. Maybe you have to call them to order that one.

Millie42 hit it right on the head - I couldn't phrase it better! A karaoke nightmare I can just picture it - "They're never gonna bring me down..." (followed by) Oops I did it again... (and then of course the Grease mega-mix)

The COLONY link posted here doesnt have a very good selection. Search on Amazon...theres a good one there but last time I checked it was back ordered. The one on Amazon leaves out only Dear Old Shiz and March of the Witch Hunters I believe. (Which arent really neccesary any way)

Hey, at least that 13 year old would still have an appreciation for music. As for me, I love everyone who is willing to listen/sing along with "Defying Gravity." I love Wicked, but I'm curious about all the support it's getting from little girls in the popular group. This musical is about being different, yet at least in my area the thirteen year old britney spears wannabees are going crazy over this musical. Are they missing the point, or am I?

Well there are the people who want full orchestral accompianment when they are performing. ala, me. That's the reason I'm getting it. To perform 'Defying Gravity' at the local theatre.

I understand it's Amazon that's having the problem. There are two Wicked karaoke albums on their site (neither listed as available): a one disk version without the opening number "No One Mourns the Wicked"; and a two disk set that includes that song from Stage Stars. I like the second album, and they are in stock on the WWW.Stage-Stars.com website.

Bypass the evil Amazon Emerald City and just go directly to their site. It's less frustrating.

how much would it suck if like a ton of people ruined their voices by trying to belt defying gravity and then they all like blamed wicked or something dumb like that...id be so pissed if people did that cause it would totally be their fault but they wouldnt want to admit that they were doing something wrong

Yeah, but Cho those 13 year olds won't be singing when they're 20 if they try belting out DEFYING GRAVITY like Idina. Very few young voices could take that kind of punishment - they just aren't developed enough.

(That should give you hope, Millie - those 13 year olds will belt out DEFYING GRAVITY for a year, after which they'll either get bored, those with training will have exhausted the song, or in the case of those without training they'll have ruined their voices. So you've only got to worry about it for 12 months)
