For the sixth time, I feel... Wicked.

Just got home from The Venue Formerly Known As T-PAC, where my friend Stephanie and I went to see this year's touring production of Wicked. We went last year, to Barbara B Mann PAH in Ft Myers... and I'm convinced that only the fact it was a 2 hour drive was why we got to see it at all. I'd screwed up the date on the tickets, you see, and we were a week late. :-}

They found us a place to sit (not in keeping with what I'd paid for the 13th row tickets, but what can you do?), and it wasn't bad... but that was the *first week* performing for that newly formed "B" touring company of the show; the choice of actors was... a bit weak. (I posted a comment here on that thread last year, detailing what didn't quite thrill me, and no sense rehashing it; I found it with Google, you can too, assuming you care for some reason. Not this time. I have seen this show, now, 6 times; 4 at TPAC, BBMann, and once on Broadway, and this cast was not only best, they were within a whisper of perfect (perfection, in this case, being defined by Kristin and Idina's -- ok, and Norbert's Wicked national tour '10 -- performances on the soundtrack album); their vocal ranges were exactly on target; Glinda had exactly the right flirt, and flounce; Elphaba could actually act, and did it quite well; really the only two bobbles in 2.5 hours of theatre were a small sound problem in the 3rd scene, and that Fiyero had a bit of trouble singing while dancing ("I can sing while I dance; I am dancing, and singing, both!" Other than that? Absolutely Fabulous. Altogether excellent job by the road crew and the locals at Carol Morsani Hall.
Wish I'd had the time to go a'stage dooring and tell them in person; maybe I'll slip over there for next Saturday's matinee. Wicked national tour '10 Worth every penny and then some. If you get to see Chandra, Donna, Richard, and a couple dozen of their closest friends loathe one another this tour, do it. You'll be glad you did.

"For the sixth time, I feel... Wicked."

I had the same feeling after leaving Rawhide down in Chelsea last night.

They take anything off?

At Wicked, not Rawhide. I can infer they take stuff off at Rawhide.

Ah; we're playing in the NFL. Wicked national tour '10

No, but Glinda's school dress flounced *really* high. I'm sure the entire cast loved the inventor of dance trunks a whole lot. Wicked national tour '10

In other news, can anyone speak to whether the tour with Chandra, Donna and Richard is the A or B company?

The tour with Charles Hagerty in the ensemble is the 2NT.
