Posted: 7/19/05 at 12:57pmIt was alright I guess... I never realized by listening to that song just how cheesy the performance was. And am I the only one who thought the girl playing Glinda tripped... and also kept moving around a lot for no apparent reason? Like bobbling her head...

Posted: 7/19/05 at 12:59pmWho were the leads? Was it Stephanie and Kendra?

Posted: 7/19/05 at 1:00pmIt was disappointing. They picked One Short Day (I think that's the title) and it didn't work without the larger staging in the theater. I also feel it's one of the weaker songs in the musical. Glinda was rather jumpy, like she couldn't contain her excitement with being on national tv, like she was 10. Also the vocals were surprisingly weak, and I really like Stephanie J. Block.

Posted: 7/19/05 at 1:01pmOne short day has never been my favorite either, I am so suprised that Stephanie sounded weak, usually she sounds so strong. How dissapointing!

I thought Stephanie had a lot of engery.
I thought Kendra did trip, it was obvious like she tripped and when "Oh no one noticed"... I did.

Posted: 7/19/05 at 1:35pmI couldn't hear the leads. They didn't seem to strong, but maybe it was the nerves or the mics or something.

In the tour trailer it was Idina and Cheno .. but that's beside the point.
They sounded really off. The ensemble tended to outshine them, because both vocals were very weak. Their voices didn't blend really well .. and it was just, really disappointing in my eyes. Makes me somewhat hesitant about going to see the tour when it comes here. *shrugs* I dunno .. maybe they were just off last night? Who knows.

Posted: 7/19/05 at 1:41pmI noticed that Stephanie accidently hit one of the chorus members as they were riding by. lol It would have been funny if she would have knocked them down.

I agree they were very off. Kendra did trip and i think she tried to cover it up with all the bouncyness, i was let down. though I am still going to see it in San Fran. Stephanie won't be there but kendra wil and I hope it's bbetter or im gonna be mad!

Posted: 7/19/05 at 1:58pmI was most disappointed. That's a dumb choice, as it's one of the weaker songs in the show. Also, Kendra is just not that impressive. Stephanie is one of the best voices to ever sing the role, I love her.

I thought it was fine :)
You guys see things I don't..and I'm really confused by it--lol
I think Steph can do no wrong in my book though, she oozes talent...

Posted: 7/19/05 at 2:07pmIt made them look worse than they are. If I had seen that performance before seeing the tour, well, I would't have wanted to see the tour. Kendra and Stephanie sounded bad and you had to strain to hear them, which when I saw it in the show was not the case, especially with Stephanie. Usually she's louder than everyone.
I love Les Miserables.

If that performance last night is anything like the tour I feel terrible for those people who wasted their money buying tickets. Just save your money and take a plane in to see the NYC version. The vocals were weak and so was the overall performance. I just hope that it was a bad night for them.
Granted, I was lucky enough to see the show in New York with Idina so I may have higher expectations than most.

I was ready to love their performance - and I just...didn't. They didn't really do anything wrong, I was just really underwhelmed by it.
I think I took for granted how much natural stage presence Idina, Kristin, and JLT had without having to try so hard. Makes me appreciate them more and more.

Posted: 7/19/05 at 2:54pmIt didn't make me want to see the show at all. Glinda annoyed the hell out of me.

IT was good..... them wearign their mics where point less i think because you couldn't hear them.... I heart Kendra..... the song itself is tired and boring.... the best part was when they spotted the camera
In defense of Kendra ....Glinda is your typical dumb blonde at that part of the show....i thought their actign was the least of their skills.... and forgive me if i am wrong but didn't they have a show before it
