Wicked raises $46,000 for BC/EFA Sat. night

Tonight there was an auction for a walk-on role in Wicked. Two people bid against each other up to $23,000 and they decided to let both of them do it for $23,000 each.
Funny moment: One of the women said "$20,000 if you'll sign autographs for my kids too" and Joey MacIntyre responded "I'll sign anything you want for $20 grand."
Also a very good show tonight!

Edit: I felt the need to change the title, since it's no longer Saturday...

I would absolutely DIE if I got to be on the the same stage as GOD(aka Idina)!!!! I would LOVE to sing during any of the songs, especially DEFYING GRAVITY!!!!!!!AHHH!!!! To dream the impossible dream.

Very nice. I remember a walk-on role in BFO going for a similarly ridiculous price last year. What works works, right?

yeah, that really is amazing. I was just talking to someone that works for WICKED, and he said that he wasn't sure but after it was over, he thought one person matched it and that they raised $69,000. But it's so good they made that much money for such a good cause.

Usually with these walk-on roles, it's something that they create just for that night, and is very inconspicuous. It's not like the auction winner takes over someone else's role! :) For instance, in Rent, the winner gets to sit up in the Life Support scene. Then they usually get their own bow at final curtain. That's it. And chances are that the person will not get to be onstage with Idina because she'll probably be gone by the time it's arranged. She leaves in a month.

thats awesome, so wonderful people will support BCEFA with that kind of money. People can be so great sometimes and be so selfless and willing to help where they can. this is so great to hear.
