re: Wicked tour commercial

Ugh, I've seen it.

They play it ALL THE TIME in Chicago. That's for sure. In the words of 'Gary Coleman': "IT GETS OLD." LOL. Don't get me wrong, I love Wicked... but the commercial is as annoying as the teenybopper fans.

What's on it? Well, there's annoying synthesized Defying Gravity elevator music and a green background with lots of white clouds (or something that looks like that) and a voice says: "So much happened... FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED... so much happened before Dorothy dropped in. *enter barn house thing* WICKED" and then some theatre info as there's like a flash and animated flying monkeys come in and there's the logo. :/
"I mean, how many of us could honestly say that at one time or another he hasn't set fire to some great public building?"

Hold on, is that the same as the trailer on the official website? It seems like it.
And it is pretty tragic. Ha.

re: Wicked tour commercial

A bit disappointing to say the least. I hope your talking about a different trailer playing on TV.... Not trailers but in Hollywood each block is now decorated with Wicked flag/banner things on each lampost all over the place. I counted at least 50 while driving through downtown Hollywood.

re: Wicked tour commercial

Its actually slightly different than that one.

The music never takes a dark turn- it repeats the same part of synthesized elevator Defying Gravity throughout. There's also annoying narration (though the words do appear). They do say "The true story of the witches of Oz" (totally forgot about that) and flash the pic. of the two cartoon witches. I also don't *think* they have the quote from a reviewer on there. But, they don't flash the title of the show twice- the flying monkeys come in with the title/logo at the end, and that's it.

Its almost always played during Leno over here (and I'm guessing during the Today Show too)...

The commercial makes me crack up EVERY time. haha It's sooo repetative and stupid. It's also a little than different what they have on the wicked website, it's actually A LOT worse. ahaha They need to have a new commercial with clips of the show.

In all honesty, I don't know how much audience that trailer will get them.....

Wow, haha I'm cracking up just reading how it's worse. It can be worse than the one online? Haha. Good job, whoever made the commercial. Makes me wanna see the show now.
