It's is NOT a projection. It's one of the ensemble members dressed as Doroty and running around behind the curtian.

Posted: 6/12/12 at 11:37amI know this thread is ancient, but it is always a Glinda understudy. Heather Spore on Broadway, Cassie Okenka on the 1st National Tour, and Marissa Miller on the 2nd National Tour. They wear the checkered dress, in case something happens and the screen falls down.
