Is it even doing all that well? It's playing in a subscription house, which is why the percent capacities are so high. I'm wondering how it will do once subscribers run out. There doesn't seem to be a lot of industry buzz about this show, like there is with Sunday. I'm wondering how successful an open run would even be.
I am a subscriber to RoundAbout, and would love to this production again. It is very witty and quite cleaver. Any lover of the great Alfred Hitchcock will enjoy it. So I hope it does get an extention if not an open run!
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

Call the day before or the day of, to see if there are any cancellations with the subscriber seats. That will be the only way to get tickets for the show, Blaxx. If you have a date in mind, and it's sold out, keep trying and see if seats open.

I was looking for HipTix for The 39 Steps, and there weren't any for this week at all. I don't know how limited HipTix availability is, but I never had a problem with other shows (George + Speech & Debate).
I got a ticket for next Thursday. Looking forward to it. The show has rarely been talked about on this board. I don't think it has generated much hype, which I think is a great thing, and they manage to keep the numbers up..but like adamgreer mentioned, that's probably because it's a subscription theatre.
Saw this show last Sunday and loved it- so clever, and hilarious! There was a talk-back afterward, and one of the actors said there are positive discussions about a transfer for a longer run.
If the shows success was due to subscribers, wouldnt every single Roundabout production sell out in this manner? They dont, and I think this speaks to The39 Steps great word of mouth.
Havent seen the show but I hear that if The Homecoming vacates the Cort in next few months, the 39 Steps will transfer there. I think its a pretty solid lock for Best Revival of a Play.
