"Will GLEE's Chris Colfer replace Daniel Radcliffe in How to Succeed?"

Posted: 6/17/11 at 6:28pmI pray this is not going to happen ( I don't think it will anyway) but that would piss me off! Chris is so annoying. Some other peoples comments made me laugh though :)

Daniel Radcliffe has committed to a year's run.
So it's 10 months away.

I do think that people probably underestimate the extent of what Chris can do (I personally think he's extremely talented, and have a feeling he's going to surprise a lot of people who think he can't do anything other than "flamboyant gay" once he gets going on other things after Glee). That being said, as has been mentioned, the timing would be off anyway, and this particular role would probably be a bit low for his voice anyway, so yeah, no :)
I DO think he'll be on Broadway eventually, but he seems very astute and well aware that there probably aren't a whole lot of already existing roles out there that he'd really be suited to just based on voice and looks and stuff, so if he does do Broadway my guess is he would probably wait to at least originate a role, if not maybe even try his hand at writing a show himself. So yeah, I'm sure this How to Succeed thing is just a baseless rumor
Now Darren Criss I could actually kind of see potentially being a good choice to take over for Dan :) Which would be kind of funny if it happened eventually considering the Harry Potter connection with Darren already haha

Posted: 6/18/11 at 8:46amI don't understand the need to rip apart an actor over a rumor that is obviously not true. The boy os working on glee, developing a movie script, working on a children's book, AND working on a show he created for the Disney channel. Anyone who keeps track of actual entertainment news instead of stupid garbage would just dismiss this as stupid and move on. Why tear someone apart for no reason? It's like when the really talented Kelli O'Hara was trashed on this website for SUPPOSEDLY being considered for Fanny Brice when anyone with half a brain just simply knows it isn't true and moves on.

Has anyone here heard the expression - beggars can't be choosers.
The show sucks. You should get down on your knees (maybe not literally) and applaud any GLEE actor who may want to come to the "GREAT" White way?
Stagehands work. Chorus people work. The lifeblood of the theatrical community stays afloat.
Does no one get it? Broadway stopped being "self-sustaining' about 20 years ago.

If Radcliffe has indeed signed on for a year, there will be no replacements. The show will close at the end of his run. A year run for a revival is about par for the course. (and yes, of course, there are exceptions to that.)
The show is doing well, but with many, many discounts filling the house.
