According to Baz a musical version of the hit 90s film may be on its way to the West End next year, producers looking at The Cambridge and similar venues.
To be fair though his info does tend to be pretty spot on. Although I agree, I cant imagine Chicago closing anytime soon. And Ghost The Musical, yet another movie on stage!
It is one of the more obviously promising concepts for translation from film to musical though. If it is even half way decent, I would bet it gets staged.
I'm afraid it doesn't inspire me with any sense of excitement - I thought the movie was like watching paint dry. lol

It should be interesting to see how they do the dragging effect on stage, given that Mike Jittlov's in his 60's now and likely not capable of doing the spirits as he did in the film.
Then again, he wouldn't have to do them in stop motion onstage either.
I think it has a ggod story too! I think it could translate well! And this is Dave Stewart too! The music could be astounding even if not written with/for the incredible voice of Annie Lennox.
As far as I knpow this isn't intended to be Eurthymics jukebox fare, but if the "iconic" music of the potting scene is lost to be replaced with the likes of "Sweet Dreams", it won't be missed!
