Despite the fact I enjoyed Lestat & would buy the CD, the CD will never see the light of day (no pun intended )
What cracks me up is that if this does eventually get released, most of the fans will have been away from the material for so long that they will probably realize how crappy it really was.
True, but I actually think the CD would fare a lot better than the show itself because then you only get the actors, you don't have to watch it or sit through the dull book scenes.
All this is moot anyway since this album will never be released.
I'm hoping they will. People don't realize that it's already recorded. It's not like they have to drag the actors to a studio and record it.
There's a lot of crap on Broadway that got recordings. Why did High Fidelity get a recording if it was on for a shorter time than Lestat? A better company, perhaps.

No, but they do have to press the CDs, design liner notes, print liner notes, organize distribution...

Its composer wasn't embarassed?

But they can do an iTunes release. It won't cost them as much.

I thought of that too, but it's still money. I'm sure WB has already balked at what's been spent/lost already and wouldn't be too happy about spending/losing more.
Thats exactly where our problem comes in.
If they release it, do it for the sake of the cast. That's the only reason why I want to see it released.
On itunes, with Elton's name attatched I bet it would sell to a lot of curious fans. It seems that they could make some $$ off it.
Sell it in the store in Caesars that sells all the stuff from his show
They could sell a ton of it just based on his name
