Im not saying it's good.
I'm not even saying the show was palatable.
Mainly, I'm just perplexed as to why the recording went to studio AND was recorded... and still not released?
I mean, come on, even Rosie released TABOO (i liked taboo, and Raul by extension, so don't think im knocking it)
Is the possible loss of money really that great? I'm asking here because all you Broadway Legends seem to have so much Broadway sense that a newbie such as myself does not.

I'm just going to inform you that this has been discussed quite a lot on here previously, just so that no one else has too. If no one responds, try searching.
My feeling, and I could be wrong, is that Elton John is embarrassed about being associated with such a horrible show and huge flop and has put the brakes on it and is stopping the release.

What about the Ring of Fire recording?
I'm sure they will eventually put on itunes ala Capeman.
I enjoyed Lestat. But it might have been due to the fact that I saw Threepenny the same day.
I think it failed because it went about it seriously.
People bemoan shows that know they're ridicluous... but sometimes you just have to be absurd.
if Lestat had been

It would have sold out for years.
I think that it should be released through iTunes. However, it wouldn't surprise if it never does get released... Kind of sad, after all, some of the songs are actually good.
No.

I'm hoping for an iTunes release. Once I have a studio version of "I Want More", I'll be the happiest queen in town.
Welcome to the New World I would like as well...
Until then, there's always The Site That Shall Not Be Named
every song is there

elton john and warner brothers have said there are no plans at this time to release the recording, mostly due to a lack of projected and expected sales.

I heard it was going to be released in a box set with the remastered Sondheim cast recordings.
A little off topic, but not really...did anyone see that woman walking around Times Square last night with the "release the Lestat cast recording" sandwich board?
HAHAHA no!
That's FANTASTIC

Oh my god...
I love New York City for that exact reason. Endless amount of crazies.

What do these people see in this show that makes it worth having a cast recording?
Why do I want this recording? Two Words:
Carolee Carmello
What cracks me up is that if this does eventually get released, most of the fans will have been away from the material for so long that they will probably realize how crappy it really was.
^ I have more faith in the power of delusion than you do.
Haha well, it's been almost a year already.
