I tried searching over the net, but I haven't found anything regarding the opening of the new TKTS booth in Times Square ! From the earthcam camera, Times Square looks so ugly with Duffy Square closed and the previous Howard Johnshon's building dark ! So, I wanted to know, when I visit in October, will Times squqre be beautiful and bright again, the way I remember and love it ? Anyone who has any info, will do me a big favor !

I know, the way it goes, probably the new towers at Ground Zero will be finished earlier, than a simple booth with stairs on top re: Will the new TKTS be open by October ???

What's taking so long is they're bringing Bob Fosse back to life so that he can be the choreographer for the dancers that will perform for you as you buy tickets.

They should do something else with that space, I like the way the booth is under the Marquis. Especially on a rainy day.

I killed the boss, you don't think they're gonna fire me over a thing like that!!!!

Well, I've said it again, why does it need years to put a pre-made booth (which is already in place, from what I've seen) with some also pre-made steps and some new pavement, is one of the greatest mysteries for me !!! They could have built a new subway station in that much time !!!!

Why am I the only one upset by this ? Too much time on my hands, maybe ? re: Will the new TKTS be open by October ???

Maybe. I have plenty of time on my hands, but I'm not upset because:

* I've enjoyed the way the Marriot has been protecting me from the rain, cold, and especially the wind lately
* I like looking at all those giant pics from The Drowsy Chaperone while I wait
* It's quieter and more peaceful than being right out there in the middle of the intersection of Broadway and 7th
* You don't have to deal with all the cars; splashing; sidewalk traffic; and of course all the protestors, comedy club employees, and Scientologists accosting you

I'll be very sad to see the new TKTS booth completed.

Ditto - I love the Marriot location. I say leave it there! Let the one in Times Square be for Plays Only/Information and let Mariott be for day-of musicals.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Let's start a petition to keep the booth under the Marquis! (Just Kidding) re: Will the new TKTS be open by October ???
