Willemijn Verkaik leaves WICKED today

Is anyone going to see her last show? Lindsay Mendez takes over on Tuesday.

She was a true treat to see. I was at her first performance and while I would've loved to see her again, prices are just too high. Best of luck to her!

I saw her in april and she was phenomenal! She made the part of a Green person flying around and doing magic spells truly believable, which is quite a task! And that is ignoring the fact that she was also vocally incredible! I hope she continues her attempt at World Domination and does the West End next!

Willemijn was amazing, and I'm glad Lindsay Mendez is taking over the role, I always wanted to see her play that.

I really can´t believe she´s done with Elphaba Willemijn Verkaik leaves WICKED today She was so amazing. But she can´t play Elphaba for the rest of her life, so it´s time she gets another, awesome role. I just hope we will hear much of her in the future.

Willemijn acted a little coy when asked about the possibility of working with Stephen Schwartz on a certain upcoming project...

I was at her Broadway debut, too. Although she forgot a few of the lyrics, I was extremely impressed with her in the role (I've seen the show with quite a few different Elphabas). I saw her again in April, and she was excellent. I hope she returns to the States soon in another show (I'm assuming she's going back to her home for awhile, anyway).

Yes. Until now, no one could believe it.

OK, I have to ask again, cause I´m so curious. What exactly did she answered and where did you ask her (I assume it was you!?!?)? At Stage Door?

Before she started, many people here thought Willemijn was being brought over to see how American audiences took to her, being that Houdini is still searching for a leading lady.

Well, if that´s really true, then one can only hope that the American audience liked her. I can not really judge that, cause I´m not part of the american audience, but I read some comments complaining about her accent, so dunno.

Just as little Info: Willemijn is playing Donna in Mamma Mia Germany for two months, before she leaves for Wicked West End! I´m so excited, can not wait to see her as Donna.

I really, really hope that she will be playing Elphaba in the film. She's perfect in the role, and I cannot think of anyone else to play it. A good amount of fans keep pointing out Samantha Barks and Amanda Seyfried, how about no. Willemijn and Megan Hilty please, at least they can handle the score (shade at Seyfried)

I would also love Willemijn to do it, but I honestly don´t see it happening. First she would by then be too old, in a few years, when they hopefully start filming she would be around 40 but that is IMHO not the biggest problem, (cause with technologie they could mask the age very well) I think they want a "name" for the role. I would love being wrong about it.

For now I´m very excited about her Mamma Mia engagement.
