Does anyone else love when Kelli sings this in "The Beauty Is" ??

...actually, I love the way Kelli sings EVERYTHING! SO this is just a place to talk about her tremendous talent! :)

I didnt realize she sang that (or was from there)... I knew they were from NC but I never even thought about the city!

I think I am going to by the CD for my birthday because I feel like I am missing out!

I live about 20 minutes from Winston and was so confused as to why someone would be posting about it. LOL

But, yeah, still haven't heard any Piazza. Carry on.

Don't have AOL. I'd be excited to hear it once I can scrounge up enough cash to buy the OCR. I got really excited when I hear the Orchestrations acceptance speech at the Tony's about no synthesizers and such. I'll hear it someday. Heh.

It was also the childhood home of our favorite critic, Ben Brantley.

I feel like I know an awful lot about Brantley now. But I only know this because he mentioned it in his Mark Twain Tonight review recently.

Tell me something - why does Clara call Winston Salem the land of corduroys? is that where they were invented or something?

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

Maybe all the boys wear them where she is from as opposed to the naked boys in Italy?

Well, I have never heard of that title.... and I grew up right by W-S. But NC used to be huge on textiles so maybe you're right Redhot.
LF, that would make sense too.

I have GOT TO get this CD!

I always took it to mean that in NC most of the men wore corduroys as opposed to how the men dressed in Italy. NC is known for textile mills and tobacco farming, so maybe that is what the workers would wear.

I just found it a fun and interesting lyric - and it made me curious about the area. I suppose it could be as simple as that the men in Winston Salem wear corduroys instead of going around naked like the marble statues in Italy - but I have an idea it's somehow the town where Corduroy fabric first made a spash or something, God knows how many years ago. Just as wonderfully interesting as the rest of the show - which is my new favorite.

I've been wondering about that lyric too - very curious...

I am now officially addicted to the cast album. I put it in this morning just on a whim and 6 listen-throughs later, I decided it was time to put it away for a bit. re: Winston-Salem
