I never thought i'd be making one of these threads, but, I just had to.
My grandma and I are planning on seeing a show, and she wants to see Woman in White, and I want to see Piazza. So, could anybody help? I'm up for anything, but, I just wanna make sure I pick the right show.
Thanks!!

My vote is for Woman in White.
It's a story I love, and the performances from everyone in the cast are top notch
Just to confuse the issue...
Anyway you can see both?

Piazza is everything- beautifully elegant, moving without being overstated and chock full of talent. The score is truly a wonder.
WiW is reputed to be overblown and underwritten.

Piazza is the best show currently running on Broadway. I'd definitely go with that.
I didn't hate WiW, but I didn't like it either. I am very indifferent about the show.

WOW. 5 against 2. i think i'll see piazza.
BUT...before i do that...does anybody know if katie clark is any good? and if the rest of the cast (specially VICTORIA) will be taking any vacation dates?

Posted: 12/27/05 at 11:54pmThe Woman In White would be my pick. As much as I loved The Light In The Piazza, this show has more of a emotional pull. The graphics are also amazing. Definitley go for the 25 dollar seats because you can see the graphics comapred to the rest of the house.

Posted: 12/27/05 at 11:55pmI'm seeing WiW on Jan. 14 so I cant judge it but PIAZZA was phenomenal. If not for anything else, see it for Victoria Clark's luminous, mammothly versatile performance. She's a revelation.

Posted: 12/28/05 at 12:04amI loved both shows, but my pick would have to be for THE WOMAN IN WHITE. :)

Posted: 12/28/05 at 12:08amI liked WIW better. Piazza has pretty music, but WIW has that and a better story, in my opinion.

Posted: 12/28/05 at 12:10amto say that WIW has more emotional pull than piazza is the craziest thing i have ever heard. If you dont think victoria clark's last song is one of the more emotional songs on broadway of all time then you have no heart. I saw katie clarke for her second performance, and she was good, not great. but she looks and acts the part, just her singing isnt kelli ohara's, but not many are!!! I promise that you wont regret it!

jsand25,
WIW has more of a backround which can lead to a better pull for audiences. This is somehting people have to follow in order to understand it. LITP was good, bout I felt that WIW made you think more about what was coming. Although LITP had great vocals, WIW provides more intense scenes with craftswork rarley seen on stage. WIW has a true ensemble.

it's all about what you're looking for...
I doubt you would be disappointed with WIW - especially since that's what your grandma wants to see. If you hate it, wouldn't you be happy that you made HER happy????

okay, i bought tickets for piazza! FRONT ROW CENTER for only $20, too!
but, yeah, i'm definately gonna see WiW, hopefully in feb, or something.
thank you to everybody who responded. your replies REALLY DID help me in my decision. thanks!!

Posted: 12/28/05 at 12:30amchernjam-you're right. seeing WiW with her would make me happy just as well. but, the thing is, i didn't want them to pay $109 for a WiW ticket, when i could get one for $20 for Piazza. I didn't want them to pay $90 more for a regular priced show, you know?

Posted: 12/28/05 at 12:36amthen maybe try TKTS and get discount tix and make her really happy? I know - I know- it's easy spending other people's money, but, for Christmas, I just bought tix for a friend to see Jersey Boys - last thing I'd see!

aww, that's really nice of you!
anyways, to those who have seen piazza using studentix: i just got into a big problem. you see..
i bought a $20 ticket for saturday using studentix and, AFTER we bough the ticket online..i read that 30 minutes before the show, u go to the box office, show them ur ID, and membership number, and then...the bad part: it says that the person who owns the credit card that was used to be billed has to present the card at the box office. only thing is, we used my dad's card, and as you all know, the ppl seeing the show are my grandma and i, and, this SUCKS, because, if they strictly enforce that rule, my dad will have to come from NJ to NYC on a WEEKEND, just to show up at the theater, present his card, and then leave. it'll be completely pointless, not to mention such a hassel for my dad.
but, when we bought the tickets, under "your billing information," it had MY name, not my dad's. so...does that mean that *I* have to present the card, or my dad does? (since it's HIS credit card)
please, somebody help me!
