Women on the Verge OCR Question
Women on the Verge OCR Question#1

I've been listening to the Women on the Verge Original Broadway Cast Recording* rather obsessively the past few days. I really enjoy it. It's an intriguing score with a lot more depth than I expected from the reviews.
However, I just noticed that the album says the final track "My Crazy Heart" was the original opening of the show. I remember that from the preview thread, but I don't remember mentions of anyone singing it except for Sherie. Does anyone know what the story is with this arrangement on the album? Did Sherie, Patti, and all the rest of the actresses sing in the early previews or is this just for the cast recording?
I swear I'd remember if you all were talking about Patti opening the show.

During the early previews, this was the opening number. The curtain rose on Pepa on the rotating bed, and the message from Ivan rolled on the answering machine. Pepe then woke up and there was some dialogue. Then the women entered the bedroom singing the song. A lot of people aaid this didnt make sense because these women entered Pepa's room like they were in her mind, but she had not met any of the women besides Candela yet. At this time Madrid was the Act 2 opening. When Madrid was moved to the Act 1 opening, My Crazy Heart was cut. It is such a great song though and I'm glad they included it on the recording.

I've been listening to the Women on the Verge soundtrack rather obsessively the past few days.
That seems unlikely as Pedro Almodovar's 1988 film never issued a soundtrack.
Are you referring to the Original Broadway Cast Recording of the recent Broadway adaptation?

Seriously? I slipped up in the post after doing it right in the subject and that's what you latch onto? Sorry I offended your delicate sensibilities in a thread where the question has already been answered by someone who understood what I meant.
The things you people latch onto astonish me sometimes. Yes, cast recording is the correct term. I used it in the subject. I accidentally posted soundtrack in the post because I'm working on an article about the music in the new film Midnight in Paris. Sorry.

Posted: 6/4/11 at 12:42amBrody's just having one of his (many) off days, I wouldn't worry about it. Obviously you know the diff from saying OCR in the subject. There are many people who come on here it seems just to pick...

Eric, I actually terminated a relationship with a guy because he really couldn't understand the difference between a "soundtrack" and a cast album. Please know that this statement is coming from someone who absolutely hates movies and feels that they are evidence of evil forces in our modern world.
Thank you very much.

I think my favorite posts here are when people freak out because someone said soundtrack instead of OCR.
