I'd imagine they'd be waiting for James Carpinello to come back before they decided anything. But then I figured he doesn't really need to skate around a studio, so why wait? I hope there will be one. I'm sure it'll have Carpinello rather than Jackson. I don't know anything though.

He needs to know when he'll be finished healing before he'll know when he's coming back, and both he and Jackson have been pretty vocal about the fact Jackson's only there until Carpinello's ready to come back, so it'll be pretty sad if he doesn't make it.

Per the cast, no date has been set yet--- not even an estimate.
That is going to be one great OBCR !!!!

They are definitely recording, its just a matter of when.
My guess is that they record sometime in August.

I wish they'd have Cheyenne record it
But, glancingforward's idea of having Cheyenne record the songs as bonus tracks would be great.

Posted: 7/15/07 at 7:09pmI hope all of CJ's songs get recorded as well, either as bonus or the main tracks. It'll be a nice addition to his discography.

Posted: 7/15/07 at 7:12pmooo I second the idea of having both guys on the CD. I'm so ready to buy it if they do record the musical.

There WILL be one--- (cant understand why people keep saying "please record this"--- believe me, I am dying for it too !!!)
The cast + a familiarity with the songs is going to make the
OBCR a huge hit !!! (As far as Cast Recordings go)
They are just not sure when it will be recorded, but there WILL definitely be one !

Posted: 7/15/07 at 9:33pmI'm sure James will return. With the ticket sales and great reviews, and the fact that it's a tiny theater, I would imagine the show will run for awhile. My question though is this, does James get paid even though he's not peforming? Does he come nightly and sing off-stage or is he not paid?

Posted: 7/15/07 at 10:06pmThey should also have a dance remix of one of the songs, maybe "Xanadu" or "I'm Alive" as a bonus track.

Re: James Carpinello, I would guess he's getting workman's compensation or some other form of contractual payment. Maybe Equity has its own rules re: actors injured during previews who get replaced temporarily when the show opens. But I highly doubt he has to come to the HH and sing offstage. Hope he gets better soon. I do want to see his take on Sonny. I've seen Curtis Holbrook's and Cheyenne's Sonny but would still like to see James go on.

Oooh! Dance remix? I'd go for that!
ETA: I haven't seen James Carpinello sing off-stage, but I have seen Kenita Miller singing from the "pit" with her ankle brace on.

Posted: 7/15/07 at 10:48pmThanks for responding. I just wondered cause I see him at these different Xanadu functions and figured he must be getting paid or what's the point in showing up just to see someone else do the role?
