Hey everyone
I searched and didnt find a thread on this, but you've probably all noticed the new monster used in the logos for YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. At least from what I've seen from Broadway.com and the YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN musical official website, they have been using a new monster in the artwork- but do you think they'll be changing the marquee and the ads around New York with this new creation? I personally like it better than the old one, it actually looks more like Shuler Hensley than the other monster...

Anyways, discuss if you wish :)

Oh wow, I just noticed the skull cap. If it is suppose to be a scar they need to fix that pronto! You can buy fake scars cheap at the Halloween Warehouse in LA. Those people get paid good money for editing or is Mel doing the editing himself too!
I don't mind the new picture, if they fix that line please.

Posted: 10/13/07 at 12:33amwell it's not a photo so I'm sure the line is intentional. I don't recall a joke about it in the movie, but maybe it's a gag in the show.

Posted: 10/13/07 at 10:15amyes, the green was coming off everywhere...and for God's sake, somebody give Igor some powder for his face, he's dripping sweat for the whole show. I'm really unimpressed with whoever is doing hair and makeup for the show....maybe it's Mel?

Someone should tell them that there's this other musical a few blocks north that has been working with green make-up for quite some time now...AND successfully. I believe the show is called WICKED or something close to that. Don't feel like using Google today, sorry.
I also believe the brand used is MAC, so if anyone could leave a note or peek into the stagedoor sometime later today to give them the heads-up, I'm sure they'd be quite appreciative.

I completely agree, Brody.
Someone do it.

Posted: 10/13/07 at 2:43pmAbout the skull cap thing, we just recently watched the film in my film studies class and the line is pretty pronounced on Peter Boyle as well. They don't mention it, but you can see it.

The Monster on the official site is simply the old monster with the new monster's head scaled down and put on top of the body. The FULL picture of the new monster can be seen on the official Young Frankenstein myspace, and on the front page of broadway.com. And yes, the full, actual picture does look exactly like Shuler Hensley.
