This probably doesn't deserve it's own thread, but, hell, why not?

Here are just a few of my favorite reaction quotes (for the sheer absurdity of them), posted by your friends and neighbors on BroadwayWorld. I'll keep everything anonymous to spare animosity, embarrassment, etc. No fights on this thread, please. It's meant to be humorous. If you posted one of these quotes, feel free to defend your opinion, or, keep to yourself, so that way you won't be lambasted.

While I was a shocked over Raul not winning, I will agree with you! When that moment happend, the lights remained on and the air raid sirens did not sound. DHP had a wonderful speech, but I was still a little "what the..." about the whole situation. Thos equotes were great! HA! I guess some people just get a little emotional when it comes to Raul. :)

But as the night wore on (and seeing how last year's Tonys went) I realized that these awards are complete and total bullsh!t.

Seriously, the guy (girl?) that asks everyone not to spoil the Tonys for him because he was going to be watching the Sopranos and it was too hard for him just to avoid coming online instead of everyone else working around his schedule is going to start a topic criticizing everyone else?

David Hyde Pierce gave one of the most geniune speeches of the evening. How these people YankeeFan has quoted could be so mean is beyond me. I was rooting for everyone in the category but Jonathan Groff, so it didn't matter to me who won. I'm thrilled for Mr. Hyde Pierce.

i posted the one about DHP knowing he shouldn't have won...and i'm not embarassed for posting it at all. If you look at his reaction and see/read his speech he acted as if he honestly didn't think he was going to win. And i'm sure a lot of people think he shouldn't have and a lot of people think he should have.

I mean is it the end of the world? obviously not, but i thought it was a bit rediculous.

Re. your reply title: didn't I read a comment from someone that Raul had been "gang-raped by the Tony comittee"? I'm sure that remark would make many people's jaws drop faster than anyone who says they were shocked by DHP's win!

While I think it's laughably ironic that nearly all of your favorite quotes pertained to the lead actor award, even I think these are funny. I was disappointed, but it's these kinds of ridiculous, over-emotional, insanely hyperbolic statements that make Esparza's fans look bad. It's upsetting, and I'm easily one of his biggest supporters, but even I want to tell some of these people to get a grip. My God, he didn't die.

While I realize that these are a bit extreme, I was pretty pissed myself. My reaction included lots of loud swearing and throwing things at the TV. But, it was mostly in good fun, I didn't really care that much

Yeah, most of these funny comments came from Roxy's "What a Shock" thread.

I just thought they were too hilarious not to post. Glad to see that others enjoyed them, as well.
