Just a thought: How great would it be if the nominators decided to give the cast of NORMAN CONQUESTS a special award?

Your list makes more sense than anyone's so far. I'd think, however, that Mary Stuart would get a revival nod.

For book I would replace 9 to 5 with title of show

So these are YOUR nominations, NOT your *predictions*, right?

I like the show a lot but ROCK OF AGES won't get a "Best Musical" nod

I'm not sure.
For example, if someone said last year that Cry-Baby would get a Best Musical nod, everyone else would have mocked you for hours.

Based on reviews (if they mean anything), "ROA" will most likely get a nom.
I don't think there's a way that Angela Lansbury won't get a nod for BLITHE SPIRIT.
Very interesting Best Leading Actress in a Musical list and I think it's really plausible.

Mitchell Jarvis is a long shot for a nomination.

I know reviews have good value but do you think Rock Of Ages will beat out Shrek?
I liked Rock of Ages more than Shrek but I thought they would want a bigger family (and corporate) musical nominated.
I think 9 to 5 is different and Billy Eliott is just a big british transfer so there could be room for two more big musicals.

Yes, these are my picks for the Tony Nominations. Not predictions.
My rationale for Best Musical - "Billy Elliot" is a lock, coming off rave reviews both here and abroad. "next to normal" is the "little show that could" of the year and made a remarkable turnaround in the 11 months it was being reworked. "Rock of Ages" is a genuine surprise - fun, enjoyable and doesn't set out to be what it isn't. The last slot was between "Shrek" and "9-to-5," with the former having the upper-hand because of better reviews.
Whoever noticed I left out sound design - that's correct. And choreography. Just slipped my mind.
Here are my choices:
Choreography - Billy Elliot, Guys and Dolls, Rock of Ages, White Christmas
Sound/Musical - Billy Elliot, next to normal, Rock of Ages, Shrek
Sound/Play - Blithe Spirit, Exit the King, Joe Turner's Come and Gone, Norman Conquests

I think 9 TO 5 is a lock.
Rock of Ages & Shrek are fighting it out.
<< I know reviews have good value but do you think Rock Of Ages will beat out Shrek? >>
Absolutely, and I think it deserves to. I think the last spot is a battle between "Shrek" and "9 To 5"-
nothing for Title of Show?

I didn't particularly enjoy [title of show]. Still, if the nominators want to be vindictive and leave out one of the bigger musicals, it could sneak in for everything: musical, book, score...
You may be right for SHREK, though I wish [TOS] would be nominated! they might forget it...too bad!

I feel that Stephen Daldry's directing in BILLY ELLIOT is some of the most detailed, magical and genious work Broadway has seen in years. No nomination for him would be simply criminal.

I totally think [title of show] deserves to be nominated, but it won't be.

I am the closest I've ever been, guessing 82/114.
I was going to say. Nice work.
