Rath - the Other nominees for that category, in the order of # of votes:
Lea Michele as Wendla - Spring Awakening
Ashley Brown as Mary Poppins - Mary Poppins
Julie White as Diane - Little Dog Laughed
Megan Lawrence as Gladys - Pajama Game
Julie White, definitely. And from what I've read, Lea Michele, and maybe Megan Lawrence all belong in that category.

Agreed. I'll have to create more strict regulations for next year's competition. Oh well....I've got a year to think about it.
wait...when did people even vote the first time?
i guessed i missed everything.
I agree with Rath. Christine Ebersole has been around for over thirty years, has won a Tony in a leading category and was a full-time cast member on Saturday Night Live. I can somewhat see where you are coming from with Beth Leavel, since Drowsy is the first major role she has originated on Broadway, but certainly not Ebersole. She's a veteran, not a breakthrough.

Munk - everyone voted from Christmas Day to yesterday. As they're still being counted, I'll be glad to accept yours until noon today.
ACL - Complain to the members of the board. They all picked 'em.
I know. I wasn't knocking you, since you're just the messenger. I'm just saying it's weird.
Well, Beth Leavel has been around (I had the fortune of seeing her as Dorothy Brok in 42nd Street in 2001). I vote for her, though, because if I had to choose between her and Ebersole, she fits more into the category. I can't belive though, that Ebersole and Leavel both received the highest amount of votes.
I'm guessing not many of the original voters saw LITTLE DOG LAUGHED.
I believe White's is the undisputable breakout performance of the season - at the very least.
