I don't do stage doors! (except when Hugh Jackman is inside!)
Hope you had fun though!

I was at the show Saturday night too! re: Yes, Another BROOKYN Review - 10/9 That's so cool that a bunch of people were there. I was row A of the Mezz. and I did stage-door after the show. It was so sweet how Clevant (sp?) introduced Mark (Schoenfeld) to the crowd!

Quick thought on BKLYN - The music/cast was incredible, the set/costumes were creative, but the story line was somewhat cliche and had many gaps in it... and I do agree that Karen Olivo definitely needed more stage time! That woman has an amazing voice! Oh yeah, and I think that although Kevin Anderson was great, he needs a little more rhythm... he looked so uncomfortable while he was trying to dance! But the rest of them totally blew me away!

Not the most amazing theatre experience I've ever had, but enjoyable nonetheless... (Oh yeah, I'm not a "shill" either).

I had on a green coat with a little BKLYN heart pin on my coat with a hat on. I was standing in the back with Mark S. and 2 girls came up to him and told him they love his work and were sitting in the mezz..then I saw wicked in row P with 3 other girls.. then outside, I saw them waiting for Kevin Anderson. My grandma was there and wanted to meet him. I also so a group of people who said that Eden was like Sutton and just runs away lol.

The show is total garbage. Apparently Tiny Toon only thinks it is a good review if it is a gushing rave.

The show is crap ,and the critics will kill it. If you want to be bored by god-awful songs and a tired script, hurry and go see it before it closes. As it is, the freaking thing is only playing to 59% capacity, so all your shilling is not going to save this train wreck.

Ouch. That review is a bit harsh, even though I respect your opinion.. However, I don't think it is fair to call the majority of us posting on this thread "shills". I am no shill, I'm not freaking out and saying it's the best thing to ever hit Broadway. I'm expressing my opinion, that I loved the show, and I don't feel as though I should be chastized for having a good time. So until every post I write is about BROOKLYN AND HOW AMAZING IT IS!!!! please don't accuse me of something I'm not. Thanks re: Yes, Another BROOKYN Review - 10/9

I was also at the 10/9 8pm show- this was the 2nd time i saw BKLYN:

Eden- LOVE her. Her voice is so much more than what we hear on the sampler cd, or what we saw on B'way on B'way. She's much smoother, less "screamy" and "screechy" than many people think- especially that last note in Once Upon a Time. Her character is a bit too goody-goody for my taste, but it's overall a nice contrast to Paradice. They've also addressed the issue of Bklyn acting 5 years old. This time, Eden says "Don't worry, I'll be growing up in a few minutes."

Cleavant- LOVE him. He injects so much world-weary soul into the show. There are true moments of magic that are all his doing. His rendition of "Magic Man" is so moving and beautiful, it brought me to tears.

Ramona Keller- FIERCE. Not one fault with a thing she does on that stage. She completely owns it. I'm less than crazy about two of her songs- I think they're weak and they work because she's a fantastic actress/singer. I do love "Raven" however, and she blows the roof off with it.

I only wish "Once Upon a Time" were longer! It's a teaser- over before it begins. Looking forward to the cast recording - out in about 8 weeks.

If you consider the following AMAZING (YES, ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, AMAZING - WHOO HOO!), THEN YES, I GUESS BROOKLYN IS AMAZING:
1. substandard lyrics, like in RAVEN, when she is yappin about being held like a flower by some man but that was ohh so long ago (rehashed Les Miz - I Dreamed a Dream lyrics), or any lyric in ONCE UPON A TIME, which is so god-awful that Espinosa practically squirts sticky sweet pancake syrup from her mouth all over the front row of the audience when she sings it, or basically any other lyric in this half baked excuse for a show, then wow...it is AMMMMAAAAZZZZING!!
2. An incomprehensible storyline, that asks you to forget logic, forget plot, forget common sense, and just sit there and be pandered to like a fifth grade child....(..."but that doesn't make any sense" you might think....The shills would say "Don't worry about it. Story doesn't matter. Just go with it." Uhhhh..okay.) How amazing.
3. If you want to look at a loud, overly busy eyesore of a set for two intermissionless hours (because if they had an intermission, only shills and high school trust fund children would be left seated during Act Two), then by all means, go to Brooklyn.
4. If you want to watch ohhhh so precious and "aren't I clever??" direction ("Woowwwww, the umbrellas are skirts, wowwww, she's wearing a garbage bag!!! HA HA HA - AIN'T THAT INTERESTING??), then by all means, run to Brooklyn and be amazed and astonished.
5. If you want to watch extremely talented actors try to make sense of a script that makes no sense, and try to pull characters out of their butts and carry a crumply, moldy cliche ridden show on their tired backs, then RACE to Brooklyn. If you want to watch someone sing a song about being a villian, and how the audience will love to hate her, but that's still love, and that all she wants is love, and if you want to sympathize with her plight through the entire song, only to have her turn evil again as soon as the song is over, then go, go, go, go go to Brooklyn.
Because, baby, as you said, THE SHOW IS AMMMMAAAZZZZIN!!!!!!!!

Even though I totally disagree with you, Matt Rogers, I'm at least respectful enough to not argue your every point in hopes of changing your opinion - to be honest, I just don't care that much if you like it or not. But what I do really find to be weird is the fact that, if you are referring to me, I never have said BROOKLYN IS SOOO AMAAAZZZINNNGGG!!!, something that you have a problem with. Actually, if you read my posts, you will see that I am not trying to be a shill and just freak out to endorse the show. I was telling other theater lovers how I viewed the show - if you don't like it, fine, but don't tell me I can't.

Matt,
What is even MORE AMAZING is that you feel that you have to refute eveyones positive comments. I am not a shill. I LOVED this show. I have seen it twice already and am going back with friends. Obviously you hated it. We get it. Bur you don't speak for anyone other than yourself. Here's an idea, don't go back again! Wait for some new show to bash.

Matt Rogers...please explain the meaning of your name. After skipping past all of your posts since they are nonsense, I got to wondering..."If that person's name was taken from the American Idol loser, then he/she has no room to mention his/her taste"

hey matt rogers...

it's just a show little fella, not brain surgery. nobody is claiming it to be the second coming. sorry you had such a horrible time. do you really have that much disgust for a perfectly enjoyable show or did someone spit on your head from the mezzanine? big hugs re: Yes, Another BROOKYN Review - 10/9

Matt Rogers is a PILL... A Pill is someone associated with broadway somehow who is put on message boards to bash a show and make sure no one ever sees it again because it makes you want to puke. Unlike a SHILL which comes here to promote the show and annoy people to the point of puking. =D

YAY ME!
