I might get to go to NYC in September asnd I can't decide on a show, but I've narrowed it down to these possible choices:
Next to Normal
American Idiot (I've seen it once, but I loved it and would like to see it again before it closes)
Wicked
The Lion King
Promises, Promises
A Little Night Music
Phantom of the Opera
I know these threads get posted a lot, but reccomendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Oh, brother....
Out of your entire list, the only show I would reccommend to a friend?
Next to Normal
Not be missed.
If there are all these shows you HAVEN"T seen, why see one you have again?
I don't understand why people ask total anonymous strangers to pick shows for them.

Do these folks even think of getting New York magazine or anything similar to read up on shows so they can make intelligent decisions for themselves? I think some people have become far to dependent on the Internet.
you really can't go wrong with any of them. but i agree with the poster who said why see one you've already seen? especially if you don't travel to NYC too often.

It's just that all the speculation about AI closing shortly after summer is making me wanna see it again before it's gone.
N2N has the same speculation -- and then you would have missed it entirely.
Next To Normal. Like dramamama said, it's not to be missed. I'd rather miss American Idiot than Next To Normal any day.

Made my decision. Definitely seeing Next to Normal. Thank you all :)
Enjoy.
I just saw Wicked. I thought it was fantastic and Mandy Gonzalez who played Elphaba was amazingly talented. I would see it again and I definitely recommend it. Next up though on my list to see is Women on the Verge....
