You Pick Seats vs. the Website Picks Seats on Telecharge

Yesterday morning I searched on Telecharge for two Dear Evan Hansen tickets over a period of four days in late August. I left the default "select my own seats from the map" option checked and was surprised when I got the red "No one will be seated after the show starts..." message instead of the usual "There are no seats..." response. However, not even one available seat showed up on the seat maps for any of the searched performances.

I then repeated the search, but this time I checked the "Let Telecharge select the best seats for me" option, and it returned two seats together at the far right end of row F in the orchestra. They were priced at $199 each and I bought them.

Has anyone else ever had a similar experience?

Perhaps You happened to look at the same time they were adding your tix...so if you'd re-tried even the pick your own again, they might have popped up the 2nd time.

I was actually able to recreate the inconsistency a second time before I bought the tickets. First I checked with picking my own, no seats showed, then I checked with the site picking for me and got the two seats. I then abandoned that result and checked again with picking my own, and once again no seats showed, but then when I performed the search for the fourth time with the site picking for me once again, the tickets reappeared and I bought them. It was all very strange.
