Well, I don't know if "no pushing" is the right way to say it. No matter what voice type you are (bass, bariton, tenor) you're going to have to work harder to achieve your higher and lower notes, you just don't want to strain them out of your throat.

Like, two years ago, I was solidly grounded in an F, could occsionally touch an F sharp. I've started studying, and my range has incresed to a G with vibrato (a flat on REALLY good days) But i still ahve to push to reach it. It doesn't hurt, (well, unless im sick or something), but i really have to work for it.(note: I'm a baritone)

I'm 15 and also a baritone. I just recently started taking my voice seriously and went from a bass to a baritone. I can sing all the way up to a G sharp, but that's when I'm warmed up and not holding back. It's not as solid and strong as my other notes but I can hit it full voice. I good thing is to also keep working on your lower range as well as your higher. Both are equally needed, and gives you a rounded appeal. Start working on your falsetto and strengthen it so it can match with your chest voice. You'll most likely get up to where you want, just keep working at it and stay focused.

I sing CONSTANTLY, I want to be able to hit all of Tony's notes in West Side Story comfortably. And within the last couple weeks of singing it, it has improved, and I can almost sing all of Maria, and Tonight. Good luck!
