You're not a TRUE theatre fan until...

...you're friends with Stephen Sondheim on MySpace.

I mean...it's definitely him, right? It seems he's kept up with the times. I'm sure when he's taking a break from working on his revivals/new songs he LOVES to leave comments on his friends' pages.

I particularly love his RENT rant.

why would he say that about RENT? He knew Jonathan Larson. For him to say things about his musical, I can't see him doing that.

I seriously doubt that is Sondheim.

So do I...that's the point.

Oh dear...

"Hello all. I am Stephen Sondheim, and I'm a musical theater lyricist and composer, the greatest one you will ever hear"

I'm sure he'd say that.

I love the "Regret" blog. Please, like he would ever be *that* hung up on it- then ask random people on the internet to help him critique it.

And the Rent rant is just petty and immature, I highly doubt Sondheim would ever stoop to that level.

I did a search on Mr. Sondheim. Apparently, there's six of them.

You'd also think he could spell the name of one of his heroes, Harold Arlen, correctly...

The only thing that's funny about this is all the people who actually think he's Stephen Sondheim.

Oh yes. Between writing music for hit shows, you can definitely find Sondheim looking for some hot girls to hit up on MySpace.... re: You're not a TRUE theatre fan until...

lol- that's a great faker! I know that a lot of Broadway actors actually do have myspace accounts though and they are authentic such as the following Sweeney cast members:

I'm willing to bet that Steve can spell visceral and that he'd have different information for smoking and drinking.

I love the idea of Stephen Sondheim going through his work day and thinking, "I can't wait to go home and write about this in my blog!!!"
