The T-Birds and Pink Ladies were no match for the Patriots, Chargers, a man named Jack Bauer and home renovators as NBC's "Grease: You're the One That I Want" placed fourth in television ratings with 8.18 million viewers.
According to preliminary ratings, the new NBC talent competition show, which will cast the leads in Broadway's forthcoming revival of Grease, was beaten in its timeslot by the end of CBS' coverage of the New England Patriots-San Diego Chargers game, "60 Minutes," FOX's season premiere of "24" and ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"
In its Jan. 7 debut, the show pulled in an average of 11.59 million total viewers.
