as for her vocals, well they were great in Chicago, and we have no idea what she can potentially do, so with some lessons she could do it
Here is a good Christine and someone who has reminded me of Emmy Rossum......Anne Hathaway, who can sing too, and I remember her telling Ellen that one time she was the #1 rated Soprano in New Jersey, so that could happen too......

As much as I would love to see Catherine Zeta-Jones act the part, I highly doubt she would be able to do it, even with "some lessons", as MTVMANN suggested. I don't know if you've noticed, but Carlotta sings some very high stuff.

Raoul- Tim Martin Gleason or Michael Shawn Lewis though I did always want to see Ewan McGregor cast as Raoul in the film and I also liked Patrick Wilson

Christine - I'll go with Charlotte Church. I think Sarah is past her prime. I recently heard her do a duet (Pie Jesu) with Charlotte Church and thought Charlotte CRUSHED her.

Christine: [I am SO tempted to write Chenoweth. I'd like to see her use her operatic voice more often. Hmmmm.] I liked Julie Hanson a lot, though.
Raoul: Josh Groban. Give the guy a shot. He fits the 'blandly handsome, sings well' part well enough. Most Raouls don't act it anyway (except for Cudia.)
There's always room for pathos - and jazz hands.
