Who do you think is your favorite hardest-working, most talented, versatile "gypsy" on Broadway right now?
I would have to go with Jennifer Cody. I can't even count all the shows she's done, and she's gone from hilarious featured roles (Urinetown) to scene-stealing ensemble parts (Shrek the Musical) to replacing in long-running shows (Cats), to straight-up ensemble (Seussical). Plus, she was in TABOO. Making it through that run alone deserves an award.
Manuel Herrera's a close second. They should really have a Tony for Ensemble or Featured Ensemble member, dontcha think?
Obviously there are so many great ones, and all of them deserve a chance. The life of a gypsy is hard and each and every one of them deserves to be thought of on their own merits.

"Who do you think is the hardest-working, most talented, most versatile "gypsy" on Broadway right now?"
That is such an unfair question. There are SEVERAL performers on Broadway who are hard-working, talented, and versatile. And by SEVERAL, I mean HUNDREDS. Each actor has their story and experiences which probably accounts to a difficult life as a gypsy.

Posted: 3/12/09 at 12:38pmI second Capn Hook. My vote goes for all the nameless, faceless singers and dancers who wouldnt be known by name. It is too hard to single out one. They all work so hard. Those Gypsys known by name have had a fair amount of success, and I feel for those who havent had those breaks.

Posted: 3/12/09 at 8:47pmI'm pretty sure every actor/singer/dancer in a Broadway production no matter how small the role is very talented and hard working. I've seen some understudies who are unknown take on starring roles and blow the normal performance away.
