Posted: 11/7/03 at 11:09amWho has your favorite Muzzy been? Pamela Issacs, Sheryl Lee Ralph, or Leslie Uggams? I can't answer this because I have only seen Pamela. She was good.

Posted: 11/7/03 at 11:17amI saw Sheryl Lee Ralph twice, and Leslie Uggams once, and Leslie didn't hold a candle to Sheryl. Sheryl had this knockout voice and magnificent stage presence, and she was hysterical- Leslie didn't get that many laughs out of me.

"Was Carol Muzzy in the movie?"
Yikes, I feel like Hume Cronyn.
Yes, Carol was Muzzy von Hossmere in the movie. Replete with tap dancing on a xylophone.

And an Oscar nomination to boot! Truly a daffy, brilliant performance that takes any saccharine out of the 'Green Glass' speech. Plus, she's shot out of a cannon in a gold lame cat suit!

And don't forget the acrobatic moves

Carol Channing was/is the best Muzzy.
But if we only get to choose from the Broadway version, then Sheryl was my favorite.

Carol was also a Golden Globe winner, Best Supporting Actress, and was shot out of a cannon.
Well, the stunt person was shot out of a cannon.
The characterization of Muzzy in the show of Millie was the biggest void from the unsurpassable performance and conception of the film.
Vive la Carol.

I loathed the movie and Carol Channing, both the movie and her performance worked were grating to my nerves.
I love Sheryl Lee Ralph.

Posted: 11/7/03 at 7:29pmSheryl Lee Ralph can't sing and she can't act. Leslie Uggams has trouble with the second song, but she is cute and has a good voice.

Posted: 11/7/03 at 11:15pmI hope Leslie is better than Sheryl, because Sheryl was pretty horrible as an actress. And Leslie Uggams has been sensational in everything else I have seen her in.
