My top 10 would have to be (in no particular order)

Into The Woods
Chicago
Rent
Urinetown
Phantom of the Opera
Aida
Dreamgirls
Gypsy
Hairspray
Nine (revival)

Yeah, kinda sad. I don't really like either of them so they're not on my list......

The kids put WICKED on their lists because it's popular right now. Next year, they'll put whatever is popular and the same the year after that. Because honestly, the show just ain't that great. As for HAIRSPRAY, I really love the music in it especially from the amazing Mary Bond Davis.
Sadly though, I doubt something like the remarkable CAROLINE, OR CHANGE will top any of these kids lists anytime soon.

What can I say? I still think CARRIE has its moments. "I'm Not Alone". Oh, I cry every time....

I don't have an audio cassette of the final performance of CARRIE on tape. If you want I can make you a copy of the audio cassette that I don't have of the final night performances with bonus songs by Betty Buckley, but it may come with a small shipping fee. Or we could trade.... PM me and we can discuss details.

But, I don't have an audio cassette of the final performance of CARRIE on tape. Well, I do, but don't tell anyone. They'll all want one.

LADY IN THE DARK

is one of my favorites.

The most complete recording is the recent National Theatre production starring Maria Friedman.

Kurt Weill and Ira Gershwin. A brilliant score

It's not very original, but I love the original "Gypsy"...I keep reading that Ethel Merman wasn't much of an actress, but the fury in her voice when she sings "...then where would you be, Miss Gypsy Rose Lee" is astounding.

Also, the original recording of "Chess"...Elaine Paige singing "Are you sick, are you mad, you still don't understand why I loathe you, why I left you" gives me chills.
