re: Your Top Shows of the Year

More so my list of favs than best, but quality obviously plays a part, so it's a combo of for me enjoyable/quality:

1. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
2. Pillowman
3. Light in the Piazza
4. Chita Rivera: Dancer's Life
5. Spelling Bee

Other-non bway favs in no particular order:

Ragtime at Papermill
Finian's Rainbow at Westport
Forbidden Bway: SVU
Newsical
Dog Sees God

"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli

re: Your Top Shows of the Year

1. The Light in the Piazza
2. Lennon
3. Sweeney Todd
4. Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life

I gotta say, all the other Broadway musicals this year were crap (but I haven't seen Jersey Boys or WIW, so exclude those from my snarkiness).
Question: Will Esparza win for The Homecoming? BobbyBubby: I hope so. If only for the mental health of many people on this board.

re: Your Top Shows of the Year

Of the (admittedly few) that I saw (in NYC):

1. Sweeney Todd
2. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
3. Sweet Charity

For regional theatre, the Pittsburgh Public Theatre's recent production of 'Yellowman' was OUTSTANDING.

Worst show? DOCTOR DOLITTLE.

re: Your Top Shows of the Year

My worst are definitely GOOD VIBRATIONS and LA CAGE. BKLYN just about misses making my worst because of Eden and Ramona's stunning performances.

Percy: Sink me! If it isn't Javvurt!
Javert: Zsah-vair, it's pronounced Zsah-vair.
