Well with Idina creating Elphie's character I have to say her first.
Followed by Julia Murney, then Carmen Cusack.
My favorite Glinda EVER is Erin Mackey.

Stephanie J. Block followed by Idina

GASP! TOATALLY AND WILL EVER BE FOR EVER AND EVER AND EVER IDINA MENZEL! Who else h=cant hit that note at the end of "The Wizard and I" and then hold it out for 15 seconds? I don't think i've seen Eden Espinosa do that.
"a bad title, even? That could kill a show pretty good."

EDEN ESPINOSA.
Hands down.
No question about it.
And I've seen the show like seven times...

no1fosterluvah, All Elphabas can hit that note. Not just Idina. Julie Reiber has the best TWAI ending if you ask me.
Hunter: Your teeth need whitening./ Heidi: You sound weird./ Jeff: You taste funny.

Ana Gasteyer by far the best acted and sung Elphaba. She blew me away when I saw it, she was really the only memorable thing from that night. She brought a sense of maturity and humor to Elphaba that other actors have not. Ana all the way!

I also like Ana. I don't think she was given enough credit for Elphaba. My vote still stays with Stephanie J. Block though :)

Shoshana Bean definetly first, but Julia Murney because she takes a whole different take on the role that really amazes me!

I'd have to say Eden Espinosa. She's such a powerhouse and so passionate!

Hands down, Jenny DiNoia. Why she's still a standby is beyond me. Murney comes in close second, though - her low notes are heaven! <3
Default = the beautiful and talented Leisha Hailey

Friday, Stephanie J. Block took over as my all-time favorite. There was just something about how she was playing the role on Friday night at least (I hadn't seen her before) that grabbed me from the start. I was such a dork I teared up during "The Wizard and I" ~ which has NEVER happened. I was an absolute puddle during "For Good".
Kristy Cates remains close up there because a) she was the first one I saw (she went on for Idina that night) and b) she just brought an extra energy to the role (might have been because I saw her second ever performance of the role) that really touched me.

for overall performance - idina menzel.
belting power and most consistent amazingness - kerry ellis.
vocal gymnastical performance - shoshana bean.
they should some how make some sort of uberstar combining all their talents.
idinerry beanzellis.
thats good actually, seeing as it seems to be a requirement for playing elphaba to have a bizarre name most of the time.

Victoria Matlock. Even though others will bash me for that.
Followed by Stephanie J Block and Shoshana Bean, but they may change after I see Kerry Ellis!

Idina. And Murney - I know a lot didn't, but she's nuanced as all Hell. I actually LOVED her in SAVED too, even though the role was underwritten.
