I've never seen the play, so can someone please give me a rundown of the female roles and how big/important they are? A Nicole Kidman fan asked me about that. Thanks!

Luisa (Marion Cotillard)- Guido's wife, she has two impressive solos and I believe the most scenes out of all the females.
Carla (Penelope Cruz)- The showiest role, IMO. She has two solos, one "A Call from the Vatican" is one of the sexiest showtunes out there. The role earned Jane Krakowski her Tony. She's Guido's mistress.
Claudia (Role that Nicole Kidman is rumored to play)- She is Guido's muse, the star of his films, and in the stage piece she doesn't do much of anything until the beginning of Act II where she sings what might be the best known song from the show, "Unusual Way." A beautiful, heart-breaking number that is now a standard. She then stays for most of the second act and then leaves during Carla's second solo.
LaFleur (Role that Dench is rumored to play)- Guido's producer. Another showy role with one showstopping production number called "Folies Bergeres." Her number comes in in the middle of Act I and then she doesn't do much until the middle of Act II.
Guido's Mother (Sophia Loren)- kind of a ethereal figure. She has one solo and then just randomly appears at times but doesn't really have much dialogue.
Seraghena (not cast yet, no rumors either)- A whore that sort of teaches Guido about sex, she has a showstopping solo towards the end of Act I and that's about it.
Stephanie Necrophorus (not cast yer, no rumors)- a film critic and LaFleur's new associate producer, she sings a great solo in LaFleur's production number, randomly appears a couple of times throughout the show.
Lady of the Spa (not cast yet)- another ethereal figure, might even be cut for the film, don't think she has a song but just sort of appears throughout the piece.

"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
