You can't. Unless you have an agreement with the licensing agency that says otherwise, you can't make any cuts. Pick a different show that's one-act.

Remove Roger and Mimi, or at least one of them. Rest of the characters are better anyway. Seriously, I was singing "I have to tell you, I've got headache" after I saw the show.

Agreements are already made with MTI, we do this with almost all the shows. Rent just seems to have importance in every single song.

Not against the law if you have permission to edit the show. We've been with MTI for over 20 years.

I call BS. I've never heard them give cart blanche permission to cut. You have to tell them what you'll cut before they can grant permission. Then they have to get permission from the creative team.
The other reason it's BS? You felt the need to delete your post. In two places.
If you've been working with MTI for 20 years like this, you've probably been breaking your agreement for 20 years. Btw, I've been working with them for longer than that....so what?
