the material in neither rich or beautiful. a few pretty songs, but an overall crap show. the design wasn't minimal. spring awakening is minimal. the apple tree's was 5th rate shoe string summer stock.
she is a one trick pony. every performance is the same as the last, just in a different get up.. no matter what show you put her in. the audience was in tears, yes, because we had to sit through her. i didn't hear a single good comment about the production when leaving the theatre.

One thing Goodwin brings to ANYTHING she does is energy, drive, passion, and grace.. all of which is lost in the song with Charlotte.

I actually find that true for a lot of performers. Cheno is just very obvious.

ACL2006, according to her website, J. Elaine Marcos will only be playing Connie through the end of this week. I guess Yuka Takara is coming back soon?
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Dont be so you. You heard atleast a couple of good comments else you were in your own little world while chatting with me and my friend Lisa after the show.

I hope they keep Ms. Marcos on as the official Connie understudy instead of editing the part when Yuka is out.

I feel that nothing sits well in Charlotte's voice....

It's because she can't sing.

It does baffle me that D'Amboise is considered a triple threat when she can neither act nor sing.

It baffles me too. I don't really consider her any kind of threat, except to ,y sensetive ears.

What makes Chenoweths "one trick" any different than that of Ethel Merman, Lupone, Carol Burnett and a slew of other leading ladies? Chenoweth is a comedic actress. We all know this. Why does she have to perform shakespeare to get any credit?
I saw Cheno perform at both the City Center and studio 54, and while I was more impressed with CC's production I certainly don't blame Chenoweth for the lackluster 54 production......I blame her director and the creative team.
Whatever Kristin is doing is obviously working for her. She is a huge star of the stage and has legions of fans. I don't remember anyone ever saying Cheno was the Meryl Streep of the stage so why is that expected?

She's like LuPone. They either love her or they hate her!

I hear Marcos would like to stay on but the timing is all wrong and the jerks at "The Wedding Singer" won't let her out of her contract. She took her vacation to perform this stint on ACL. So, they have to hire a different Asian actress who will start in the next week or so to sub for Yuka.
For now, Yuka is out until around January 7th. Let's hope she is all healed and healthy for 2007!

All I will say is that the full cast (except Yuka) were in attendance and doing great as of the Saturday evening show.

Sucks for Marcos. Wish they'd let her stay until Yuka returns. Maybe Marcos will join ACL again once TWS closes.
